Est. Sweat Loss / Fluid Consumed

A number of activities track estimated sweat loss, which is nice. I drink water during my activities but, I cannot find a way to tell the activities I have consumed fluid. I would like to balance sweat loss and have that recorded in the activities. Anyone know how I could do that?

  • If you install the Garmin Hydration app on your watch it should do this. As part of the shop you choose a daily hydration goal.

If you launch the glance for the Hydration app, then hold the middle left side button to get the menu.  You can then toggle "Auto increase goal" to On.

This adds any estimated fluid lost from sweating during an activity you record to your usual daily hydration goal for that day (e.g. your usual daily goal is 2000ml, during an activity your estimated sweat loss is 650ml.... your total goal increases automatically for that day from 2000ml to 2650ml)

To add any fluid you consume during an activity, once you finish an activity and it saves, go into Garmin Connect, go into the saved activity,  click the 3 dots in the top right, then choose edit activity.... scroll down to the bottom and look for "Show more data" (in blue text).... just off the bottom of that next screen you'll see Est sweat loss, then below that you can edit "Fluid consumed" then save Thumbsup

  • zippyloa, Thank you. Unfortunately, the number wheel interface to add fluid in Connect is, frankly, ridiculous. I consume 500 to 1000 milliliters. I cannot use that interface for those numbers. I hope Garmin will take a look at that.

I have been using the Hydration app for months. I never knew what the goal option was for. I have wished for some time that I could enter fluid consumption while in the activity.

  • By number wheel, if you mean the up and down arrows which slowly add 1ml at a time.... you can override that by clicking on the 0, it then brings up your phones keyboard and you can type 500 or 1000Thumbsup

Yeah it's frustrating that adding liquid you consume during an activity to the watches Hydration app doesn't add it to the activity itself.... it does add it to your overall consumed liquid though, so it counts towards your daily goal at least

  • This is what the Fluid Consumed number entry looks like in Connect on my phone. Putting in 500 ml on that is ridiculousness.

  • On that screen if you click on the 0 in the middle it should bring up your phones keyboard which you can type with to enter 500 or 1000

  • Thank you. I had tried that. A quick tap did not work. I needed to hold my finger on it for a moment.

  • Glad it works, hopefully that'll allow you to do what you wanted to now?
