Activate turn by turn audio alert.

It looks like I have a similar problem on F8 

I can hear a voice, but I've lost the countdown signal in interval training. Only the vibration on the watch

Can anybody confirm that there are turn audio alerts with version 12.22?
I do not find the setting to enable or disable them but also don't notice any alerts when getting closer to a turn.
Kind anoying as I have to constanly check the watch to not accidently miss a turn.

When you are about to start an activity, choose Navigate>saved> pick a course

On the next screen you should see "...More" at the bottom

Select that,  then chose Route Settings and make sure Guidance Alert is on

You need to do this for each type of activity, then it should be on from then on.

Alas, turn by turn audio alert is still very random. Twice in a row I made this one:

- create a route in Garmin Connect Web, with navigation alerts activated

- select a run activity on my watch and select a training (x hours at a specific pace)

- then I also select my previously created course, "... More", I check that Guidance Alert is activated (on my headset).

- I start my run and ...

... guess what? No audio turn by turn audio alert. I can see my route with the arrows on it, but neither visual indication of direction changes, nor audio alert. I still get alerts every kilometer with my pace, heartrate, etc.

This thins is really a nightmare, I really don't know how to make it work. I think among a tens of runs, I managed to have turn by turn audio alerts work twice.

The last time I tried it just a couple weeks ago (as just a test with a route made in connect of my normal running route) it worked pretty good.  The one thing that I did notice is that the map is for sure off / late on a few turns, and it does not call all turns turns.  My street ends with a stop sign, but is at like a little bit of an angle onto the main road (not at 90°)  and Garmin doesn't think it's a turn.

When I was running with a running group where they provided routes (for longer runs) I would build Garmin routes by using ridewithgps and exporting those to my PC, then import into Garmin Mapsource to modify the names etc, and then again export that to a FIT file it was almost always very accurate for turns.

I don't have mapsource on my PC anymore, but should see if I can recreate my local route with that method and see if the results are different.  Its certainly more work but once you have a workflow it was pretty simple. I did it every week and posted it to our run group to use for a while.
