Naps widget showing "No Naps Today" (but you can see the nap when browsing inside the widget)

Has anyone else yet napped with the F8? Besides the widely reported bug of the nap widget showing quite random numbers, there seems to be another bug.

Seems like a bug that the Naps widget is not picking up the naps (you really have to go into the nap widget to find the nap). After taking a nap, when looking at the "Naps" widget by scrolling down from main screen, it shows "No Naps Today". However, when I click to open the widget and scroll down inside of it, I can see the nap.

The Body Battery widget noticed that I had taken a nap, and when browsing the Body Battery to the "Factors" tab, it shows properly that there was nap.

My F8 is def not recording any naps at all.

Like in your case the widget on the watch shows "No naps today", but also shows nothing on details page.

And I def had a nap. I was testing it with wearing a Venu on the other hand wrist same time and the Venu detected the nap. :-)

My Fenix 8 is not recording NAPs either

while my EpixPro was a master in this task, the Fenix8 just does not do the job

Hello Garmin expect you to do something for naps that are not detected? Knowing that this also influences the body battery. Is this the engineers looking at this problem that still seems to occur in many people. Thanks for your reply.

The Fenix 8 hasn't recorded any naps for me for weeks

The question that we can ask is whether Garmin is working on the problem or whether one believes that these are isolated incidents and that everything is working well from their point of view

Hello. I am sorry to hear you are having this issue.

Original post was sometime ago, and I am not seeing others experiencing the issue with the widget. However if this is also ongoing please let me know.

For those not seeing any nap recording, the most common cause of naps not being detected, is spikes in stress and/or heart rate. So if you are reviewing your all day stress chart, if you are seeing higher levels of stress during your naps, this would prevent the watch from capturing this as a nap.

I've been using the Garmin EpixPro 51mm for a long time, and the NAP detection has been flawless.

However, I feel the NAP detection algorithm has been changed for the Fenix 8. Many NAPs I take during the week are not detected on the Fenix 8.

Now in Fenix8 I realize the detection is not done in the device: The HRV/HR is uploaded, the time rest in NAP uses to appear as BLUE in the Stress/BodyBattery chart (stress levels are low), and only after that, your cloud identify the NAP. Sometimes, even with recovery ( rising Body Battery) the NAP is still not detected.

Kindly, please let the R&D team to know the experience with EpixPro 51mm was much better

Same here, did not have the issue on the 7 and now on the 8 it is not recording naps anymore
