Turning notifications off during specific workout type?

Right?! There used to be options after Smart Notification for “during activity”. They’re gone now… Only On/Off globally.

It is absolutely ridiculous that Garmin dropped this feature!! It’s a massive glitch with the Fenix 8. In order to enable watch functionality during a workout following a notification(s), you must (1) unlock the Notification Center by scrolling down; (2) read and remove all of the notifications; (3) access the watch functionality. Good luck doing that during a workout of any meaningful intensity. Garmin, please fix this!!

The best part of this is that I have notifications globally off which is my preference but when I go for a run it notifies me on everything.  It’s incredibly maddening.

Hey folks, I've found the way to turn off/on smart notifications during workouts (activities) but looks like it's applying to the all types of activities, but not to the whole watch anyway. So you can turn notifications on / off independently for the activities and for non activities. This means that option Smart Notification for “during activity” was just moved to another place. To access it you need to choose an activity (but not to start it) scroll all the way down until "Watch Settings", choose it, and then choose "Notifications & Alerts" and there you can turn off/on what do you prefer and it will apply only to Activities and not to the watch in non activity mode, so "Notifications & Alerts" accessed from Activity mode is not the same as "Notifications & Alerts" accessed from the Main watch menu by long press middle button.

You can turn them off in the activity focus mode. Then it will stop notifications during all activities.
