Fenix 8 51mm Sapphire - in stock?

I did not trust shipping and stock here in my country. I went old school: phone call and drive to the shop.
The first batch is always scattered.

Now it says 'sorry for the delay' 

Some retailers say the sapphire will not be available until mid October! 

Hey Richard, I oredred from Garmin Australia on the 27th. Looking at the web site the delay went from 1 - 3 days to 5 -8 weeks. Thankfully mine has shipped, expecting mid next week. I think initial demand is high and it might have been optimal to order from a retailer. I bought a Fenix 8 from a local store yesterday, surprisingly, but understandibly they had it in. stock on launch day.

I'm having exactly the same issue in the UK. 'Sorry for the delay, we'll let you know once it's shipped'. Not good enough. I ordered from source, on the 27th, thinking that's the best way to get your hands on the new release when in actual fact I should have just gone to a local department store. It shouldn't have come as any surprise that there would be an influx in orders to Garmin upon releasing a new product. I have absolutely no.idea when my 51mm Fenix 8 will arrive. 

For what its worth, I cancelled my order with Garmin - I really hate being mucked about like that. A local watch shop had them in stock, my watch arrives on Monday. 

Hi Richard, which shop had stock?

I just cancelled my order this morning as I've had no update and the website is showing 3-5 weeks to ship. I went to SportsShoes.com having called them to confirm they physically have them. Should arrive within 48hrs (51mm amoled sapphire). 

Watches of Switzerland. It arrived yesterday.
