Voice to text reply to message

Is it possible to reply to a text message using voice so that the voice is processed and inserted into the reply instead of choosing a predefined reply? If not, when will this be available? With the presence of Voice Controls, adding such functionality does not seem to be difficult.

    Like others, voice to text via the fenix 8 does not work well with Google assistant. The Way Garmin explains how to reply to a text message using voice on the watch is completely incorrect. It does not work at all like how it is explained. There are too many steps involved in using assistant to send a text that the watch cannot process correctly. When I dictate a text it shows up in assistant but requires another command to send the text. To say the process is clunky would be an understatement. For anyone considering buying this watch to use this feature often, like me, you will be disappointed. I'm debating returning the watch as that was one of the main features that drove me to paying several hundred dollars more than a 7x pro or Epic.

    Why is Voice Phone Assistant only available to respond to a desired text message and not an actual Voice Command? Such as “send text message to Bill”. Will this be added later?

    In Italy you can't replay. Just with text to text. Really a shame. Keep money.

    On my Fenix 8 solar, in Italy, all connected with Samsung Galaxy s24 and fully activated even assistant and even Gemini Will not be able to respond. There Is no choice tò respond whatsapp on assistant. Really a shame for the price paied

    No, you can't, i got Fenix 8 with galaxy s24 and It's impossible. It's a s h a m e (and GARMIN IS CENSORING MESSAGES). WOKE SOCIETY. Go woke go broke.

    i am not able to respond to the text messages. I have the watch paired with my iphone 12. When I press on the message > start button> 2 options pop out: 1. phone assistant and 2. clear > the phone assistant option will NOT work. It won't progress when I select and press start  button. Not sure if there is a setting that I need to enable ? When I go to the default phone assistant option, it works 80% of the time and it is TERRIBLE at recognizing my dictation... Really a downgrade from my apple watch in terms of the user friendliness and unified connection between devices. I got it because I am getting into long distance cycling/ running and wanted something that would provide me battery life for days. on day-to-day use, though, it really does lag on the intuitiveness / ease of use on the GUI... :( Just waiting for the day when Apple watch can extend battery life for 2-3 days...
