Fenix 8 - Disable Activity Sounds

I can't seem to find the setting to disable during-activity beeps in the new OS (eg, laps, when you pause an activity, etc). This use to be under the Systems settings for Sound & Vibe. I've disabled button sounds, turned the "system" volume all the way down, I don't have any of the alerts set, etc, but it still beeps constantly.

Has anyone figured out how to disable this?

Hello, I am sorry to hear you are having trouble with the sound settings. You should be able to Mute all sounds both during and outside of activities.

Yeah it seems that way haha.

Kinda sucks since imo disabling beeps is the first thing anyone should do when buying a new Garmin. Super annoying to run a road race (for example) and hear a cascade of tinny…

Finally found how to do, but yeah I had to do every single menu to find it. It is not very logical to have to go that deep but I guess as it is a new OS it will take time to adapt. I also had difficulty to find the option to have the gesture option for my activities instead of always-on display and to duplicate activities. Found it but looks like you need to do it on GC and cannot do it on the watch.

Has anyone found a fix? Changing the volume in focus mode is not making it go away. But it only happens with activities.

The fix listed in this thread is correct. Make sure you're going into the Activity focus mode, then Sound & Vibe to turn off the beeps. Additionally, you may want to disable the voice alerts entirely, also under the Activity focus mode. This all needs to be done from the watch, as the app won't let you adjust volume settings for some reason.

Actually the watch needed to be updated then I needed to do it there and on the watch. Insane. My 5th fenix and this is still an issue. Insane. Thanks for the help

The solution works for me, BUT this setting seems to apply to all activities. So there is not option to mute the alarms during a fitness workout but not during a bike activity?!?!

Exactly this problem I also asked in another thread.. is it really not possible to set activity specific alert settings (e.g. one for run, one for walk etc.)?

On the Enduro 3, which lacks the speaker, disabling the beeps completely is not possible. You can enable and disable them for buttons and you can enable and disable the sounds for buttons and vibrations system wide, but not the sounds system wide. You can enable or disable sounds for smart notifications, but not for fitness notifications and system alerts like phone disconnect alert, even according to the official manual.

Quite a strange decision. Now, I have disabled most of system and fitness notifications completely and thinking about going back to my older forerunner.
