Deactivate the microphone on the Fenix 8?

Hello everyone,

I just bought my first Garmin watch, the Fenix 8 and im really excited! However, is it possible to deactivate the microphone on the device?

The reason I'm asking is because of my profession and I didnt think of that when I ordered the watch out of excitement.

The microphone on the watch is not activated until you press and hold the Voice Command button. .So when not pressing the button the microphone is already disabled. However, as an additional measure, you can remove the Voice Command shortcut button, and replace this with another function.

Hold the menu button
Select Watch Settings
Select System
Select Shortcuts
And Select Hold Start
Choose another function

You can also remove the Voice Command, Phone Assistant and Voice Notes apps from the watch's app list.

Thank you, great answer, personally I won't be using the mic so I'd like to minimize it's impact.

Since the microphone will only activate when you manually activate it, by using the Voice applications or press the Voice shortcut button, this would not change battery usage when not using the microphone. This is unlike Bluetooth for example, that is always in use in the background on the watch.

Do you know how I can deactivate the sounds during an activity. I've tried all the settings and I can't seem to get rid of them. Deactivated everything in focus mode and also in sound settings but still can hear the beep every time the activity is paused or for each lap or for activity alerts like pace alerts.

Finally found how to do, but yeah I had to do every single menu to find it. It is not very logical to have to go that deep but I guess as it is a new OS it will take time to adapt. I also had difficulty to find the option to have the gesture option for my activities instead of always-on display. Anyone knows how to duplicate an activity? I tried on Garmin connect with no luck and on the watch it seems impossible.
