Is it possible to configure a new Fenix 8 watch by restoring from an Epix 2 backup? Or do you have to configure the new watch from scratch?

Hello Chris
Currently the option to BackUp/Restore from your current device to the new Fenix 8 is not an option. So you will need to manually setup the new device.
What about training level, VO2max etc., i.e. everything related to DSW, which prepares you for competitions? Are we starting from scratch too, or will it be pulled from Garmin Connect?
It does not.
I don´t think it is possible, because the F8 series has a new /different UI...(?).
I would elect to configure any new watch from scratch. It’s the best time to work through the new UI.
It should be, most of the settings are not specific to the GUI rewamping. I saw in the F8 manual that display settings are the same, only the presentation is different.
Try and let us know. But I don't think it's possible as it's a completely different OS by the engineers and not compatible. But I could be wrong.

And with every hard reset you will have to do after all the software problems that will arise if it's like the Epix Pro. Good luck.
In the F8 manual, it says that migration is possible from "compatible watches". Any idea when the Epix 2 and F8 will be compatible for a backup/restore ?
I have so many settings to set, that I dread having to do it all by hand...

Garmin Coach is connected to Connect, like other data. They will not be on the Fenix 8 watch, and at the moment Garmin Coach is broken, it does not sync with the watch, but DSW will suggest workouts in relation to what will be in Connect and will continue to be measured on the new watch. I have a Fenix 8 51 mm. This is how it looks at the moment with the current new watch.
I upgrade from Epix Gen 2.
