Why is there no 43mm Fenix 8 model with MIP/solar?

Did I miss it somehow? Why isn't there an option for 43mm size with a MIP screen? It's one of the main features of the Fenix line. I don't want a screen on my wrist - I want a watch! There are enough screens in my life already.

I was excited for the release today but was very disappointed to see the weird omission of a small MIP model with solar. So I just purchased a 7s Pro Sapphire Solar instead of getting one of the new models because I want to get one before the 7s's sell out.

If Garmin retires MIP screens on everything but the Enduro, it would be a huge mistake.

Please continue MIP as an option on the Fenix! Or at least expand the Enduro to three sizes.

    I think that the increased size of the solar ring on F8 solar 43mm would mean that the active screen area/watchface would be smaller than anything that they have previously produced in the fenix line.   My hunch is that this would not have been popular and therefore, they decided to not sell a 43mm version

    Garmin could have chosen not to add solar to a 43mm MIP watch (like 7s non-pro model), problem solved. The battery life would still be much better than the AMOLED version in always on mode.

    I also think there are plenty of people that find 47mm too big so I find this an odd decision:-(. Most "non-fitness" smartwatches aren't that big, so not sure why they are pushing for that size.

    We used to have smaller MIP options in Forerunner line but that's all AMOLED as well. Only left is now Instinct and to see what the 3 will bring (hopefully not yet another AMOLED display).

    I am gutted about this as well. Love my 7s pro Sapphire and would have liked to have upgraded but don't want a bigger watch face :-(

    Blackberry created the touch screen to keep up with Apple and look how that worked out! Garmin should stick to what they do better than anyone else. MIP screens!! If I wanted AMOLED (which I dont!) I would buy an AppleWhatch! Please Garmin get the hint and release an Endurance in 43mm or a Fenix8 43mm in MIP. Oh and by the way with such a long battery life it DOESNT need the solar option so make the watch smaller!!

    Late to this party! I have been saving up for the 8s Solar, upgrading from my 6! And I find out there’s no solar option! That’s crazy! I agree they could have made it work if they were interested in keeping this audience… if it is the profit margin, that is also disappointing. I’ve been such a Garmin fan. Not sure what I prefer to do now. Will likely just go for the 7s, I guess. But I was hoping to have the dive function.
