Crash Fenix 7 Pro Solar during Ultra trail

Hello,

I own a Garmin Fenix 7 Pro Solar, and I encountered a critical issue during my last ultra trail (100km - 5000m elevation gain - 22h16), on the night of July 20, 2025.

The watch worked properly during the race, but it suddenly crashed about 3 km before the end.

Since then:

The activity does not appear in the watch's history.

It does not sync with Garmin Connect.

No complete .fit files are visible in the Activity folder.

Files that I was able to find at the exact time of the crash:
Error files:
err-log.bak → shows a restart at 01:55:09
sns-err.bin → system data at the time of the crash

Data files:
Active.bin (1,162 KB)
Hash.bin (65 KB)
Hashbin.bin

5 partial .fit files named F7Kxxxx.fit (1 KB each)

I believe that Active.bin contains the unfinished activity, and I hope that it is possible to reconstruct it as a .fit file using your internal tools.

Can you:

Confirm whether this activity is recoverable?

Help me convert it to .fit if possible?

I managed to recover these three files at the time of the crash. Is there nothing that can be done with them? Is there no tool available? I contacted GARMIN via chat, and basically... They don't take into account the total disappointment of no longer having your run. I'm still convinced that their engineers could recover my .FIT file from these three files containing data.

As per forum research

the "failed" activity should be here <watch>/Garmin/TempFit

for example, you can merge the FIT files (export the activities as "Original") using the FIT File Tools

Thank you very much for your feedback.
The problem is that I don't have anything in Tempfit... I only managed to find these three files, which should contain the data at the time of the crash, but they need to be converted to .Fit format.

I purchased a Fenix 7 Pro Solar to ensure reliable performance during my ultra trail runs. At the time of the crash, I had about ten files, some of which contained data. Having worked in IT for 34 years, I am confident that you can repair my file so that I can retrieve my race statistics.

Bugs do happen in software, firmware and hardware, which is sad but understandable and can be forgiven, as long as you're being open about it. People pay a relative large sum of money to use these devices and should be able to rely on them for their ultra adventures or their loyalty might shift to other brands.

Causes for crashing/rebooting are wide an varied. So for diagnosing this, we will collect details of when this is occurring, how the watch is being used, and the behavior after a crash. We will also collect crash logs from the watch, as well as a video of the issue if possible. Our engineers will use this information to try to diagnose the cause of your unique crash issue.

Once we have collected this, we may recommend trying a factory reset to see if there is any improvement to the issue.

There are no other specific troubleshooting steps to recommend, aside from as always, ensure your watch is on the latest available Software version using Garmin Express.
