Bluetooth no longer working after firmware update to 22.06

Today my fenix 7 updated to firmware 22.06 and after this bluetooth always disconnect from my phone and my headphones.

I unpair the devices and I try to make a new pairing, but the pairing fails. I reset the watch to factory settings (like written in the forum) and the watch no longer pairs with no phone via bluetooth. Tried three different models with Garmin Connect.

It is really frustrating that every firmware update you need to pray that your watch is always working.

Any solution by Garmin?

Thank you

  • Similar issue here: the watch does'nt connect in the morning after the sleep mode where connection was deactivated. In the quick settings I can activate phone connection and then it connects as normal (until the next morning).

  • My Bluetooth is still working as normal after 22.06 so it's not something affecting all users. I'd report it to Garmin directly.

  • I called the Garmin support in Italy and after i explained my problem i got an email how to resolve the problem. This worked for me. The mail is in italian and i put the translation done by Google Translator

Once the reset is done, perform the following procedure with your smartphone:

First, check that you have updated the firmware of your device,
the Garmin Connect Mobile application and your Smartphone to the latest version.

If you have previously paired the device with your smartphone,
unpair it from the Bluetooth settings of your smartphone (from settings - Bluetooth).

Then, access the Garmin Connect Mobile app and remove the device from the application,
selecting "More" at the bottom right - "Garmin Devices" by swiping from right to left on the name
of the device (the name of the device must be in blue, if it is white there is no need to remove it) and selecting "remove".
Now uninstall the Garmin Connect Mobile application from your smartphone and then reinstall it after downloading it again from the App store.

At this point, open the Garmin Connect Mobile app and, after logging into your account, re-pair the device as shown below:

Activate the connection (4G or Wifi), Bluetooth and finally the GPS position from your smartphone.

Access the “Garmin Devices” item in the Garmin Connect Mobile application and select “add device”
Now select the model of your device from those proposed.
Now pick up your device and access the Bluetooth settings; from here select “Pair with Mobile Device”.
At this point, take your smartphone and select “search for device” from the application.
Once the device has been found, a numeric pin will appear on the device to be entered on the smartphone to confirm the pairing.
Once the pin has been entered and confirmed, wait for the pairing to be defined.

  • Before resetting you could also try what worked for my case: go to the sleep mode and battery saving mode settings, unset and set all the settings - after this, this morning my watch connected automatically to the phone after sleep mode had ended.
