20.22

So why does this Official Software have so many bugs that have yet to be addressed. From not being able to select which Credit card to use with Garmin Pay to Genuine Garmin HRM's not being able to track HR data properly due to drop outs, including even worse ability to download the same data. Something when using a 2nd watch Fenix 6x and the same Ant+ protocol, which works properly. Even music doesn't work properly. It appears all these issues were mentioned in the Beta Forums, but NOT addressed. Personally I have many Garmin Devices, but when my old wahoo bike computer can connect to an ant+ device, and record accurately but my Expensive Fenix 7 cannot, with no updates in sight, this is bad

  • F7P user since launch. Never faced any problems prior. I had a weekly routine of charging on Sunday mornings. The watch could last 12+ days previously. Now on firmware version 20.22 with no change to any settings the battery is draining in 4 days 100% to 0%. One reason for this is a display brightness that automatically goes to maximum. I always have it at 5% and 4 seconds. The watch seems to have a mind of its own and display becomes bright. I need to frequently check and reset the display but after a while the display goes up again. I have mentioned this in a specific post.Either my hardware is faulty or something in the firmware is causing this issue.

  • I don't detect all these bugs. I've been using the Fenix 7X solar sapphire for 3 years now. Maybe because I only use it for sports and so if it doesn't make coffee I don't care, but for me it works well. I also have a Suunto with which I do comparisons and I don't see any major anomalies. What I don't understand is why many people report different bugs, that is, if there is a problem it should be the same for everyone, don't you think? But maybe it depends on the language, the only thing that can be different. The Fenix 7 is used all over the world by great champions and professional teams, I don't think they give them different software...

    • You are lucky. But yes, if you don't use for anything extra or connect other devices, then it's entirely possible it will work properly. Because the Garmin HRM-PRO is glitchy and no longer accurate I'm using the optical sensor. My other HR strap that I use for the bike is better, but too much sweat and it never works properly no matter the devices connected. It appears that in the Beta Program they seem to fix those with the highest votes, many of which are aesthetic in nature. The HRM-PRO issue is specific to one of their products. But it works fine in the Fenix 6X. The Garmin Pay issue may actually be a Garmin Connect problem, but has not been resolved for a few years from what I've found. For myself today without connected devices I did a 5.5hour trail run without a problem with beta 21.06 firmware and it worked well. I've not been willing enough to test the HRM-PRO before that run. But should be able to test it soon.
  • I have experiencing many issues. After using my fenix 6 Pro Solar Titanium Zafir for more than 6 years. I thought that a fexix 7 pro solar would be an upgrade. It is, and it isn't. I am very disappointed to pay almost £600 for a watch that is not functioning properly under stress, when it should have been tested with certain combination of different scenarios. For example go for a run without your phone and be able to play music from the watch without diconnecting or stuttering audio playback every time your arm swings behind you. It is soooobad that i had to reboot the watch because whenever announcment were playing it playes choppy music, which i have stopped erlier.  Or when you do a heavy excersize and it gives you the recovery time of 36hours, than later on the same day you do the second part of your excersize, and instead of adding them it removes the first 36h recovery time and reverts to the one from the last for 8hours.  Really disappointed.
