Fenix 7 - 19.41 battery problem

Hello Garmin,

i have my Fenix 7 since 2 years.. no problems. Always on my wrist!

Recently i experienced a strange behaviour.. 3 times i woke up and the battery was drained (at least 50% in 8hours of sleeping)

I have always run the latest software..(no custom watchfaces)

What is the problem? What you suggest ?

I'm on update 19.41 and for the last four days I've been experiencing a complete discharge on my Fenix 7S Pro Saphira Solar in a single day. After 4 full charge cycles, a system restore the problem persists.

Same issue here and worsening.

I have installed a battery monitoring and you can see that at first, the drain would start when the level was at 10%, then it started 15, 25, 50, 75 and today it was 80% and it went from 15d to 20h remaining in just 5 minutes.

When I bought the watch, it would last for 6 days with 1 or 2 activities a day. Now I'm below the 2 days before it shuts down. For such a pricey watch, it's a shame.

It's same to my F7Pro, burn rate 8-10%/day, without any activity just notification from phone.

I have the Standard Fenix 7 and have also around 15%/day battery discharge. Normally it should be beneath 10%/day. I think this problem came with the last updates. Now I also have version 19.41.

I also have the problem that the watch got quite slow, especially when I use a workout. Switching between the slides is very slow and also start/stop is delayed. The seconds of the workout time stop sometimes and continue 10 s later.

Unfortunately the device is one year old and I can't send it back

Problem has been reported more than a month ago and up to Garmin, Engineers are looking at the issue. But we have no news since then.

Also, it seems there are several types of drain :

some users experience continuous drain all along the day
some have drains on specific events / activity
some, like me, are running just fine and all of a sudden, in 2 minutes, the drain happens and kills the battery. So it can last for some hours or several days, i just never know when the drain will happen (and I saw it happened to other users too.

I'm honestly appaled that a watch that is on the market for 2 years, that is at the 20th software version still isnt stable, still is bugged, and still doesn't have a proper power management system. It's really appalling.

I'd suggest less functionalitiers (damn create a specific Golf watch for example, most user do not need this), simplify, come back to the core of what this watch was supposed to be.

Saddening too is the fact the Garmin CM's are not providing regular news on the issue solving progress.

If this is limiting your ability to enjoy the watch, we have since released new BETA versions. You can also roll back the software to the previous full Public version here: https://forums.garmin.com/beta-program/fenix-7-series/f/announcements/400289/beta-version-20-10---check-for-updates-only Be aware if you roll back the software version, this will factory reset the watch. You will also continue to receive future BETA updates, if you are still enrolled in the BETA program.

I'm having serious battery issues since the 19.x updates as well on my Fenix 7x SS. Battery is lasting 50% shorter now. It used to be well over 3 weeks but now it is nearly half that on the same moderate usage as before. I almost never needed to charge my Fenix but now every other week or so. The battery "days" indicator now lowers by two "days" every calendar day, if that makes sense.

I tried factory resetting it and doing a soft reset to no avail.

What happened in the last few updates that killed my battery? Can it be fixed? I was really happy with my watch before Garmin ruined it.
