Why has my 7x pro started giving me audio prompts for nav. And how can I get rid of these?

Until last week I'd get an audio alert for each lap. Now it tells me every single turn. Rather than just a beep and vibration on the watch, I get a voice telling me about upcoming turn, and then to turn (usually after I already turned) It's extremely annoying and I can't find a way to get rid of it. I can turn off nav alerts, but I still want the prompt showing on the watch, I just dot want to hear about it. Garmin support have been less than helpful so far. Any suggestions?

    Probably because it's "bY DeSiGn" - the design EVERYONE hates and NOBODY wants. Yet, everyone besides Laurie agrees it's an absolute lie, so they probably don't want to have to tell you.

    , it takes literally a few minutes to reproduce. Why don't Garmin engineers try that themselves? Why does it take them 11 months to investigate when it can be reproduced in a few minutes? I've just reproduced this again after reading your response.

    Steps to reproduce:

    1) Create a course - in this case I used an auto-generated course created by Garmin Connect on my phone from my current location.
    2) Add one or more waypoints on the course near your position.
    3) Save the course and sync to the watch
    4) Make sure turn prompts are OFF in the navigation settings (to prove that turn prompts don't disable these voice alerts).
    5) Start an activity and select the course

    As soon as the activity started, I heard the following from my phone speaker: "Food station in 130 feet" (note: I had a waypoint of type "food" added on the course).
    Then as I moved towards the waypoint, I heard another alert: "Approaching food station".

    The same applies to the end of the course because it is treated as a waypoint. I didn't try that today, but I definitely heard that in the past.

    Also what phone model and OS version are you using?

    Yes, it reproduces the same with or without headphones paired to the phone. If headphones are paired, the voice alert comes from headphones; otherwise it comes from the phone speaker. 

    I never pair headphones to the watch and not going to.

    Google Pixel 9 Pro. The latest version of Android OS.

    Exactly the same that is happening to silentvoyager is happening to me since software 15'77 or 17'28, can't remember.

    Of course, I disable Bluetooth when navigating, but then I cannot use live track or receive messages on my wrist.

    Please Garmin, solve that as soon as possible. This is a huge problem and it has been taking so long.

    I am also not using headphones paired to the watch.

    Xiaomi Redmi note 11. Xiaomi HiperOS 1.0.5.0 (but this is happening for months, maybe even a year)

    15.77 introduced the Audio prompts only on headphones connected to the watch. I think 16.22 added them on the phone as well. So one solution would be to downgrade to 15.77 or lower.
