Why has my 7x pro started giving me audio prompts for nav. And how can I get rid of these?

Until last week I'd get an audio alert for each lap. Now it tells me every single turn. Rather than just a beep and vibration on the watch, I get a voice telling me about upcoming turn, and then to turn (usually after I already turned) It's extremely annoying and I can't find a way to get rid of it. I can turn off nav alerts, but I still want the prompt showing on the watch, I just dot want to hear about it. Garmin support have been less than helpful so far. Any suggestions?

    Update July 22, 2024: 

    Our engineers are aware of an issue causing audio prompts for navigation to sounds, when audio prompts are disabled. They are researching a solution to this. In the mean time, the work around for this is to disable Turn prompts in the navigation settings. This will disable the navigation prompts on the watch, but will also disable the audio prompts. 

    Once there is any software solutions, or additional updates, I will post again.

    Update August 20, 2024: 

    Our engineers are aware of an issue causing audio prompts for navigation to sounds, when audio prompts are disabled. This concern has been escalated, to hopefully find a solution for this soon.  The current recommendation, is to disable the Turn Prompts. This will disable the navigation prompts on the watch, but will also disable the audio prompts. 

    If this does not stop the audio prompts, you can also reduce the phone volume temporarily.

    Once there is any software solutions, or additional updates, I will post again.

    Just updated from 16.22 to 17.28 and now get these audio prompts. Any solution yet?

    Same issue on the FR965 since Q2 2024 betas . Noted many times in bug reports and other reports to Garmin. Super Frustrating

    If you are having trouble with the Forerunner, you will want to report this to the forerunner thread and BETA threads. These devices use different software elements. So even if issue are similar, you would want to get these reported under the correct device.

    I wanted to mention that the same audio prompts issue exists for course points and course finish. Even if turn alerts are disabled in the watch settings, these audio prompts still go off twice for each course point - some distance before the course point and at the course point.

    I wanted to make sure that when this issue is fixed, it is fixed for both turn directions and course points.

    How hard is this to fix? Seriously?

    The latest update is absolutely ridiculous on my Fenix 7X. Not only is this simple fix STILL not carried out, but the battery drain is insane, and my maps no longer work correctly.

    I got the 7X due to battery drain on my 6X, then after two weeks of working perfectly fine, you guys decide to break that, too.

    So, now I have:
    - Audio prompts that "can't" be disabled
    - Battery drain
    - Broken maps

    Unless things are drastically improved soon, I have no doubt that I'll be heading to another brand for my next watch. I hope others will also follow suit.

    I updated to the latest version, 19.41, and still this annoying bug is not solved. Can you give an update on the progress of solving this bug? Is it already planned?

    A mi fenix 7 solar edition también me afecta. Odio tener que estar escuchando todas las instrucciones de giro. Estoy harto de tantos fallos de GARMIN nos tratan como conejillos de indias. Las cosas no se hacen así. Sino tienes un firmware fiable no saques todavía el reloj. Siempre estamos arreglando fallos.
