15.76 Increased battery usage (Fenix 7)

Hi,

I noticed that the battery drain went from about 3% a day to almost 5% a day after updating to 15.76 (without activity).

This is a subtle but annoying difference. Did you also noticed that?

Of course, I tried the soft reset method.

In my case it seems to have settled down now. I am back to less than 3% per day.

I haven't charged the watch since the upgrade to 15.76. Therefore I suspect a calibration issue.

I am curious as to how you have a 3% drain; that's something I never achieved with the stock watch face and mainly default settings.

Is the "auto discover" (sensors) mode activated on your watch? Some users reported that it has an effect on the battery drain.

But idle battery drain seems to be rather random...Bach reported earlier in this thread that his battery drain is as low as 0.08% per hour. I have never achieved that up to now.

I get this behaviour after every last updates. The only way to solve this for me is to Reset / Delete Data and Reset Settings followed by restore backup. This way everything comes back to normal.

Most unlikely to markedly affect battery usage. Auto Discover sensors only becomes active when an activity is selected or Sensors and Accessories is accessed.

Yes, you must be right. I personally never noticed a significant impact with this option activated.

My setting:

- default face with second hand off, no heart rate data field on face.
- airplane mode always on, only connect with phone 2-3 times per day to sync activities.
- heart rate auto, pulse ox manual.
- touch on except during sleep hours, vibration on, haptic off.
- general backlight manual, activity backlight on wrist gesture after sunset (I run at night). Brightness 5%, 4 secs.
- gps mode is satiq (auto), data recording set to every second.

- auto backup off, auto update off, sensor discover off. Always use HRM dual sensor during activities.

General usage is 0.08%/hr. Activities usage 2-3%/hr. 1%/hr at night

Fenix 7X SS, 7 month old, on 15.76 fw.
