Is it true that there are two different hardware versions of the Tactix 7 AMOLED Edition? I saw boxes with OLED and AMOLED labeling. The OLED version might have a display with less quality, although advertised by Garmin as AMOLED. Please clarify!

lol 9 months of back and forth nonsense only to realize you should have listened to the posters telling you the same thing all along
What is incorrect? The Tactix 7 AMOLED only comes as AMOLED as noted
they are only amoled
There is no OLED version. The only other options are MIP screens.
While it's true that AMOLED is a specific kind of OLED display, all modern OLED displays are AMOLED, so the two terms are basically interchangeable these days.
…I wear my watch 24/7 even when tracking activities with other devices. For road biking I use the Edge 830 with the HRM Run.
Just wondering how garmin handles HR data when two devices are tracking it.
First, Garmin would suggest that you set your tactix 7 AMOLED as your Primary Wearable Device (PWB) and your Primary Training Device (PTB) in Garmin Connect. Here's what their Help pop-up says on the subject:
Second, I would connect your HRM-Run to both the Edge 830 and the tactix 7 - this will assure the same HR data are recorded by both devices.
HTH
One of the first things I did was set the Tactix to primary. Garmin also says that if an HRM is detected it will default to that for HR. Regardless, I will manually connect HRM to both on the next ride. Good advice, thanks again. Please enjoy your day.
I have all of my HRMs paired with both devices. I have a Fenix 7SS which I wear 24/7 (or another Garmin watch during the day) and an EDGE 830 but only record rides on the Edge 830. All data syncs perfectly. Fenix 7 set to both primary wearable and primary training device.
You than will also need to record an activity on the watch. Otherwise it will not stay connected to the belt.
no
I just purchased a Tactix 7 and the box also says OLED. On Garmins IQ app it says OLED but the Garmins other app says AMOLED (picture attached). It was advertised as AMOLED as well. I'm wondering also what's going on here. I emailed Garmin and I'll post what they respond back with.
Quick update. Garmin has replied back to me and vaguely said that the OLED is infact AMOLED
