Race event still showing in race widget in Garmin Fenix 7 despite deleting it from calendar

Hi I am having issues deleting a race event from the race calendar widget on my garmin watch despite it being deleted in the app. I have also tried turning off the watch back on and off.

This is annoying because obviously no longer running the race but also my daily suggested workouts are still based on that event.

Any help here?

I had the exact same issue when they first brought out the race feature (I think was on Fenix 6).. I raised it in the forum at the time, and raised a bug report in the beta forum, but heard nothing and…

Yes, I removed my primary event. Phone is the same, but it is possible that Android has been updated in between. There is a problem in some specific conditions, but it is unfortunate that there is no option to remove the event from the watch itself (not using Garmin Connect at all).

I was having the same issue on my Forerunner 265. I added the event back to the calendar, selected, "Send to device" from the event menu, synced, then removed the event from the calendar and synced again. That did the trick for me, my race widget shows the same events as my calendar now.

What exactly do you mean by "I added the event back to the calendar"? I can see the event on my watch, but no longer in the app or the web app. The watch doesn't have any option to "add the event to the calendar".

Did you just create another identical event in the calendar?

When you find an event through Garmin Connect (either on the app or the website) you are given the option to add it to your calendar, that's what I was referring to. I haven't tired this with a manually-created event.
