Missing map details - TopoActive Europe

Mine did this a while back. A reinstall didn't help me. 

I'm in the UK and the blank map issue I had was for several areas in northern France.

After a reinstall failed to fix it I finally discovered the problem.... I realised that my watch was set to display contours and it was using both the Garmin Europe maps AND Talkytoaster TT50-British-Isles-Contours-DEM. When I turned the latter off the gaps around France worked again. 

The overall map redraw and scrolling speed has increased dramatically since turning contours off too

I guess having contour data turned on was OK when viewing maps in the UK, but a lack of contour data just over the Channel caused issues for the maps there, leaving gaps. 

Worth checking if you have contours enabled (start the activity then hold the left side middle button - scroll down to Map them scroll & deselect contours.)

If that doesn't fix it, launch the activity, hold the left hand middle button, choose the activity settings menu at the top,  then Map,  configure maps and make sure you don't have 2 maps enabled for the activity you screenshot above

I think this is the nub of the problem. Having more than one map for an activity causes a few problems. Stumbled over this a few times when electing to Route Back part way through an activity or course. The watch more often than not froze calculating the route on the map page but continued processing the activity one the watch.

So perhaps a faulty map download or maybe another enabled map for this area (?) is causing problems.
