Fenix 7 Start/Stop button stopped working

Hi guys, I have the above mentioned issue when out of a sudden the Start/Stop button after 1 year and 4 months stopped working. It does not matter how hard I press it.

Did you experience the same / similar issue, please ?

I also have a feeling that button is now always pressed as screen is not switching off the backlight unless I manually dim it.

I am definitely contacting store where I have bought the watch to repair / replace it under warranty.

Thank You.

PS: below please see the evidence of described behavior.

  • тоже самое !!!Кнопка стала нажиматься с большим усилием!!Это брак всех часов феникс—эта кнопка не герметична и начинает через 1.5 гола пропускать грязь и воду!!

  • Exactly the same problem.. After 1.5 goals, the button began to press with great effort. This marriage of watches phoenix-button begins after 1.5 years approximately to let water and dirt through!!!!

  • Hello, I am sorry to hear you are having this issue. For button concerns, there are a few steps we would recommend trying.

    • Ensure the watch is on the latest software version using Garmin Express. https://www.garmin.com/en-US/software/express/windows/
    • Try cleaning the buttons. For this, submerge the watch in warm/clean water for 10 minutes. Remove from the water, and press the buttons repeatedly. Dry thoroughly.
    • If this is still not responsive, try a factory reset with these steps if possible:
    1. Ensure the watch is powered off.
      • You may need to hold LIGHTfor up to 30 seconds to turn the watch off.
    2. Press and hold BACK and START/STOP.
    3. Press LIGHT to power the watch on while holding these two buttons.
    4. After the first beep release START/STOP.
    5. After the second beep release the remaining button.

If the issue continues, we would recommend contacting Garmin Support to discuss replacement.

  • I had this happen to my F7 Solar too, on the first day of my 2 week holiday. Two weeks of running, cycling and a little swimming, all without proof! Smiley

As always, Garmin Support was excellent and replaced it with a F7 Pro Solar. Big-Ups Garmin!

  • I have the same issue with my Fenix 7 , tried the soaking thing several times. I can push the button repeteatly and sometimes it will work, but now its not responding at all. Almost seems like its stuck . I use it to track workouts 2-3times per day. Previous versions had same issues. I would replace my watch every 16mo, but now they are getting so expensive I would expect them to last bit longer . Seems like quality has fallen off

  • Same for me- Garmon support made some helpful suggestions which unfortunately didn’t work, then they supplied me with new replacement unit- kudos to Garmin- well done!
