Tactix 7: Sunrise/Sunset Widget number 36 after sunset

The bottom right number changes to a “36” without a degree symbol after the sunset and stays that way until the next sunrise. What does that number mean? During daytime the changing degree number is self explanatory and there is a visible degree symbol.

  • Oh YESSSS. That is a great one. Thank you very much.

Obviously, the "36" is an attempt on Garmin's part to let us tactix 7 owners know that we are special!

But then it should clearly be a "42", or what would you say? ;-)

Now I daresay that some special feature on the Tactix uses the same memory address the Sunrise/sunset widget uses and that slipped through QA. We are happy that this didn't cause any crash so far. A very long shot: the Stealth Mode is connected to locations...I'd look there first.

I'll open that with Garmin Support next week.

Btw: the difference between Amoled and MIP shows clearly...;-)

Thanks a lot, I think we a got handle on it now. No let's see if we get a fix for this minor issue - minor as long as it doesn't cause crashes that is. Which is not a very long shot to worry about.

  • Epix 2 and Tactix 7 Pro, both with the latest firmware version.

  • So that seems to be confirmed: A special Tactix7 bug b/o specific functions of the Tac - a memory leak seems likely.

: Imho we have a handle on a so far minor (no crashes reported up to now) bug. Can you forward this to development for T7 or shall I open a bug to local support?

Well... it gets a little bit more curious.  Same problem with my MARQ Aviator Gen 2 running software version 11.28:

During the day - no problem:

But before Dawn and after Dusk, we see our favorite "36" with no degrees:

So now we have confirmed the problem on both tactix 7 and MARQ Aviator Gen2.

    any help?

Thank you for the picture examples. You two are in completely different parts of the world so location is not part of it.

  • Updated June 30th, 2023:

Our engineering team continues to work on resolving the issue.

  • Since the latest firmware update 13.22 the time in the mentioned screen cannot even be scrolled anymore Sweat smile Well done, Garmin.

  • It‘s working fine for me.

  • What does the number, in degrees, on the left mean? Can’t find an explanation of the glance anywhere?
