Fenix 7 Sapphire Solar (button issues, mainly the "Back" button)

Hi,

I am wondering if this is a Fenix 7 issue or something not that common. How many Fenix 7 Sapphire Solar owners have issues with the Back button and sometimes with other buttons as well (for example when I wanted to turn it off, it was sending the emergency message to my contact, and could not cancel it due to the back button was not responsive at all.)

The story:

- I bought a Fenix 7 Sapphire Solar in September (replacing my Fenix 5)

- Back button stopped working after 2 weeks

- Got a replacement but in mid-January, the back button stopped working, got my 3rd watch

- After 3 days (and one swim), the back button is dead again

I am using it mainly for swimming (3-4 times/ week in the pool and 2x/week in the sea) and for other sports on the weekends. My assumption is that there is something to do with the sea swims, cause other swimmers with Fenix 7 do not have this issue.

Any help or feedback is appreciated cause it started driving me crazy.

I'm having issues with my back button and light button also after a couple of surf sessions.

Did you rinse watch in fresh water after sea swiming?

Start Stop button fell out in bed. Watch is only 5 months old. Replacing under warranty, but wondering about after the warranty is up.

On my 11 month old watch the start/stop started to get a bit 'soft', I followed the support article of soaking for 10 mins, after that it didn't work at all. Have just posted back for a replacement. Never swim in it, mainly gym and cycle, always shower in it so it's gets rinsed off.

Frustrating on an expensive watch, but decent support at least

Hey ! I have this same issue - exactly this same! It's so frustrating, rinsing helps but I did not buy 600£ watch to rins him after almost every swim! Lol ! So frustrating!!

So fenix 7 is not suitable for pool or open water swimming since buttons stop working. I read some other users have same issues with back button even after several watch replacements.

I do not dare to try it in pool now. It is the most expensive smartwatch that I bought and it has these issues.

If you believe everything you read on the internet, I'm surprised you wear any watch. Have you personally experienced any problem with the buttons?

Yes I did, buttons are not the same and some of them were different when I received the watch. But still working. Never used the watch in the pool though.

I am surprised that often reported issues are still disregarded as "anything on internet". It is obvious that some issues are not one time glitch.

So you cannot comment from personal experience on the issue with buttons following swimming but choose not to swim with it because of what you read on the internet? I swim 3 to 4 times a week in the sea and the pool most weeks and have no problems with buttons. It's not necessarily a widespread issue just because a few people post in these forums that they have problems.

Cost has nothing to do with it. It's simply common sense to rinse the watch after swimming.
