Accurate weather forecast needed
Accurate weather forecast needed
This sensor is influenced by your body temperature and only accurate if you dont wear your watch.
The other alternative if you do want accurate ambient temperature is to get an external sensor…
I’d try an IQapp until garmin makes it possible to change the forecast provider in their stock glance. Haven’t used it myself, but accuweather has a glance you can download
The activities get the temperature from the sensor built into the watch (because this is needed for barometer calibration). This sensor is influenced by your body temperature and only accurate if you dont…

Thank you I do I do this on the watch or do I need to download on my phone ( if so how do I get it on the watch)
Garmin weather uses airports for weather forecast, so it's not accurate for most people if you don't live next to one...also there is no location data to check... Just update time lol.
I use an openweather program from the store, that uses the closest weather station... and has location data of the station.. and upload time...
All the best
I have found Open Weather to be the most accurate at least for my location in Australia.
This is the IQ widget I use

I also find this Weather Radar app very useful

If you download connect IQ (on your phone) and tap the “IQ store”-badge in the app, there’s a section a bit down on the site called “weather at a glance”. Here you can choose which ever weather app you prefer. When downloading the glance should automatically appear among the glances you already have. You can move it around like any other glance
I live 3 miles away from Exeter airport and it’s not accurate
Thanks I have just down loaded one and it says no API code. What is that and how do I get one ? Thanks
Definitely another reason to go Openweather...
Accuweather has the potential to be very good, but I found that it often pulled location from my phone's IP address rather than the GPS, which can be a long way from my actual location. I'm in central Maine, and often saw Massachusetts forecasts when using it, so I had to uninstall it.
I have gone back to using the built-in Garmin weather and also installed Maps4Garmin for its live radar maps. Until something better comes along, the two of these together give me confidence as to what the weather is doing while out on the trail.
pls help me understand... if your phone is long away from your actual location, how do you get the Fenix retrieving the weather data? (as it needs phone connectivity for internet data access, right?)
and the Maps4Garmin you mention, is this supposed to be installed from Connect IQ?
