Thinking about buying a Fenix 7 for multiple activities... especially surfing, but I cannot find any information about someone using for surfing.

Hi Joaogmv
I've given up to be honest as I kept having to get a new watch every time I went surfing.
However, I was able to get a fairly accurate session (gps wise, positioning, didn t care much about…
I have gone through 4 instict 2 surf watches and one Fenix 7. They have either ingested water visibly (3) or had very fast battery drain (2). According to Garmin my situation is unique. I find it hard…
DO NOT BUY THIS WATCH FOR SURF. The buttons break after 1-3 surf sessions even when following their care instructions. I bought the fenix 7 saphire, got two replacements under warranty, and then got the…
Any new updates on the garmin surf app?
Does it track wave count and wave data correctly now? Or is it still as bad as mentioned before?
Fenix 7 with dual band GPS it works great.
I have gone through 4 instict 2 surf watches and one Fenix 7. They have either ingested water visibly (3) or had very fast battery drain (2). According to Garmin my situation is unique. I find it hard to believe that I am the only surfer experiencing this. This has all happened after a single surf session, so no idea what is going on with garmin. It is unfortunate as I have had a few models previously and they have all worked just fine.

I am now going for my 4th Fenix 7s. One of the buttons went again. As this device lasted more than 6 months Garmin replaces it with a refurbished one. There was no impact to it at all. It just doesn't seem to like the sea. Also no new warranty on this one. 90 days or whatever is left on the previous one.
Same issue during last summer after somes sessions of SUP and swim in sea.
Garmin cannot claim that this is an isolated case.
French Garmin support changed my watch. I hope I won't have any issue with the new one before the end of warranty.
Surf activity tracking terrible, especially for short waves. Even with max accuracy mode it has delays for about 5 seconds some times - meaning that I catch a wave and it breaks or I just fall and instantly start paddling to get out of breaking waves - so it tracks that I have surfed not down the waves, but up the waves which is ridiculous and useless.
My Fenix 7 broke twice from 4 surfing sessions (was able to get the first one replaced for free and unable to replace the second one)

Odd. I got mine used off eBay and used it for ~150 surfs so far.
