Fenix 7 Stainless Steel bezel scratched, replaceable?

Sad to say I’m a little disappointed after 2 weeks of owning my Fenix 7, using for road running and on the bike, I’ve found the bezel to be scratched already.  Perhaps it’s karma for not splashing out on titanium Disappointed

I honestly can’t think of anytime I’ve knocked or scraped it, it has caught on my jacket a couple of times but that’s all.

Do we know if this bezel is going be replaceable? I haven’t looked into removing it but I really hope so.

  • Therefore, the bezel of the fenix 7 seems to be weak against scratches in everyday life, not in intense sports conditions.

This conclusion has been drawn because people apparently

saw scratches after a moment that they could not even remember because no strong impact was applied.

That's not the same thing as saying the impact didn't happen. It's all too easy to 'forget' the people who post saying that they have bumped, scraped, and bashed their watches without incident, because those posts don't fit the 'watch is too fragile and delicate for active use' agenda.

These watches, in fact all watches are likely to have damage when abraded against hard surfaces. Accept it. Protect the watch if felt necessary. But for heavens sake, please stop suggesting the watch is too soft to be used in sport activities simply because one or two people (conveniently) forgot how they damaged their watches.

  • 1/ the hard plastic case is going to wear down the blue DLC coating and you'll inevitably end up with scratches on the bezel, the lugs and on the back of the watch.

2/ the charging port cover will help creating corrosion on the charging pins due to humidity being trapped.

I my humble opinion all of this defeats the purpose of your initial intention which was to take care of your gorgeous watch.

  • Case is not hard plastic and only to be used if the watch is used for something it could get scratch.  The charging port cover could only get humidity if watch is submerge in water.   To end the answer not a beauty contest but to protect the looks of the watch

What about sweat, rain etc? Best to leave the port open and make sure to clean the watch and dry the port after use. Despite what some suggest the pins on the watch do not corrode If the watch is properly maintained. And that includes making sure the port is dry before connecting a charging cable.

  • I've been doing the charging port covers since the Fenix 3 HR, the only one that I haven't had a cover for is the Marq because they don't make them.  If you are careful and clean your watch regularly you shouldn't see any problems.

thereby obviating the need for a port cover.

  • Using charging port cover continuously for 2 years on Fenix 6 pro and had no problem

  • Sweat gets into the port even if you have the cover on. You dont need the port to be full of water to start a corrosion reaction. A bit of salty solution (sweat) is enough. Next time you finish an activity remove the cover and you will see sweat in the port. This is exactly why Coros stopped sending covers with their new Vertix and publically discouraged people using the ones they initially sent with new watches. It does no good.

Regarding the case, it completely defeats the purpose you're trying to achieve. If you get one hard particle stuck in between the watch and the case, your watch will get damaged. Plus the constant rubbing of the case on the body of the watch cannot do any good.

Have you tried to use a sweatband and put it on top of the watch instead?

  • Hello, just my 2 cents’ worth.

I own a Fenix 7S SS and had the same problem as I work in a warehouse and wanted a way to wear the watch whilst keeping it protected. I ended up buying a cheap pair of black sport wristbands (sweatbands) from Amazon. They easily stretch over the watch and offer maximum protection with plenty of cover on either side. The only downside is that it covers the screen but you can just pull it to one side when you get a vibration alert.

The other option is the Chofit bumpers / case which have recently appeared on Amazon. Used one of these for my Fenix 6S. The rubber is very soft and bendy - it’s not like a hard case. It’s easy to take on and off for effective short term protection i.e. if you want to protect your watch at work or if you are going climbing. I wouldn’t use it as a permanent case.

  • Never used a charging port cover on any watch and never had any problems. As

If you are careful and clean your watch regularly you shouldn't see any problems.
