Fenix 7 Stainless Steel bezel scratched, replaceable?

Sad to say I’m a little disappointed after 2 weeks of owning my Fenix 7, using for road running and on the bike, I’ve found the bezel to be scratched already.  Perhaps it’s karma for not splashing out on titanium Disappointed

I honestly can’t think of anytime I’ve knocked or scraped it, it has caught on my jacket a couple of times but that’s all.

Do we know if this bezel is going be replaceable? I haven’t looked into removing it but I really hope so.

  • Yes, such a product would not have been made or sold in the first place if there were only people who thought like you, It wouldn't have gotten so many comments on this post.

You seem to ignore other people's opinions or points of view too easily.

Some people think of Fenix's scratch as an honor, while others see it as an ugly scar on the other side.

There are not only people in the world who have the same thoughts and views as you. People in this post are using the same product and there isn't even a single correct answer.

  • I think some people on here need to grow up a little.

The watch is an outdoors sports watch, runners, hikers, kayakers, mountain climbers, sailors, MTB'ers, surfers, builders, workmen/women etc.

It is going to get scratched. Period.

Live with it, Nobody likes new expensive items getting scratched, but it will, so just get on with your life or just keep it in a box, and take photographs to show off your new watch faces on facebook.

I have a F7x SS, its 2 months old, its not scratched, but it will be, it goes with the territory.

My main issue is that it has to work. I use it as a tool for navigation, so I need it to be reliable. (although I have backups).

  • It's not about growing up, it's about differences in perspective and personality. Most of these comments are not scratches that occur during outdoor exercise, but scratches that can occur in everyday life.

There will be people who use it and plan to sell it used later. After all, it is a product that has paid for and owns, so whether treats it carefully or does not care about scratches, it does not seem to be an area where other people can give advice.

  • That’s exactly it, it’s during everyday use that I’ve managed to scratch mine and I don’t feel you should not have to cover it. I had a forerunner for years and that thing still looks mint.

  • It doesn't matter what you were doing, resting, working, playing, doing sport, taking the dog for a walk, a scratch is a scratch. A wall or brick, or tree doesn't know or understand what you are doing.

Lots of people cite stories. I had this watch or that watch  or the other watch and it didn't get scratched. Smaller watches like forerunners don't get in the way as much as a large watch, maybe they were under your sleeve not over it, maybe you did different things etc. Who knows, and really who cares. You wear a watch it WILL get scratches on it in everyday life, eventually. I caught mine on the car, or shelves, or in my plane, or when taking the rubbish out, or cutting the grass etc. Its just what happens. Previously I had a F6X sapphire for 18 months and as luck would have it didn't scratch it at all, but I tried to be careful.

To paraphrase a song "the first scratch is the deepest"

  • You are one of the many who also suffer from a traumatic disease, like myself and almost all ... PTSD, Post Scratch Traumatic Disorder :)

  • Ha! Mine got scratched the same week I bought it but that is what I get for going rock climbing with it Stuck out tongue winking eye

What I do now it just use a wrist sweat band over the watch when I am doing something that may damage the watch like working on my truck. The scuffs don't bother me much since I bought this watch knowing I was going to go all kind of dumb stuff with it

  • I am in the same boat 40 years of wearing watches My Fenix 7 Sapphire Solar Edition Black DLC Titanium the Bezel is scratched worst out of any watch I have every had in hell my Vivoactive 4 looked better after a year.

I thing this is a fine everyday watch for a desk jockey but it is not made for working in a shop and being a gear head yes my other watches have scratched but its pretty bad when my cheap timex and casio watches held up to scratches better then my $800 dollar watch.

I work with mold makers I am going to have them sand off DLC coating on just the bezel to see how it looks seeing as how the bezel is not replaceable

  • I purchased the new cream gold color in February. Within a month it looked horrible. The watch is bid so it’s going to bump into things regardless. It’s frustrating because it’s so expensive and supposed to be made for sport. By 6 months it looked so bad I didn’t want to wear it. Oddly the matching buckle on the strap which gets the most use had zero wear. Likewise the face was pristine. I contacted Garmin and showed them because at that point the finish was basically rubbing off. They replaced it. Now I’m scared to wear the new one. I got a clear bezel cover but it falls off super easy. Looking for another option. IMO the bezel is in desperate need of re-engineering.
