Is the 7s too small for my wrist (17cm)

I just ordered the 7S and concerned it might be too small for my wrist. My thinking was that I would wear it 24/7 and therefore wanted something comfortable that wasn’t too large. However I’m wondering whether the standard size may have been better. I wondered if anybody else has bought the smaller size and regretted their choice or has any pictures they could share. For reference my wrist size is 6.75 inches or 17 cm

  • True, I am not a runner. Planning on becoming one though ;).

I recently changed my strap to a nylon one, reducing the weight of my 7X SS to 69 grams. The 7S is 58 grams. I do not know if 11 grams make that much of a difference. Of course the watch is bigger, but this way the weight certainly isn’t double. The thickness is also almost identical, 14.1mm vs 14.9mm. But if you leave the standard strap on then yes it is a bit heavier.

In my opinion, unless you have very small wrists, or simply don’t like big watches, the 7S is perfect. But put a nylon strap on a regular 7 and it has exactly the same weight as the 7S. You’ll appreciate the bigger battery and screen.

I agree that big watches can look ridiculous, but as long as that person enjoys wearing it I don’t mind at all. This whole thing remains very subjective. Very difficult to tell someone what is best for them.

  • I’ve a 165 mm wrist with 55 mm width.
Last week I’ve changed my 6pro that fitted perfect, with the new 7X solar.
Probably new one is a bit bigger than I expected but after a few days I get used to. I wear it 24/7

  • 17,5 cm here. Coming from a 5S PLUS I tried to buy a standard 7 but returned it a few days later. It was really nice on my wrist but too bulky for me. Got the 7S and love it, perfect for tennis, running and hiking... so comfortable to be worn 24/7

  • I posted some photos a few days ago on Reddit of my 7S SS on my wrist, which is slightly smaller than yours. It fits just right without the lugs exceeding the width of my wrist bone.

  • My wrist is almost 18

I came from the old school of mechanical watches.

    I went for s as my older f6and f5.

I could have taken in consideration the bigger version only in case I would have been using this watch just as a sport tool for trekking. Yes here it would have made the difference.

But Considering other sports, swimming for example, and considering I wear it always and not only in sport environment, FS all my life.

the biggers look to me simply ridiculous, something like a child with dad’s watch

or if you like it more, Arnold and cigar

  • I once tried the regular Fenix 6. Went for a 10 mile run, it was quite a warm day. After 3 miles after my arm started getting a bit sweaty the watch started rotating around my wrist because of the extra weight. It then rested at a 45 degree angle on the corner of my wrist bone for the remainder of the run. I returned it immediately and brought the 6S which I’ve since been happy with running 70-100 miles a week. Something about heavy watches and running which I find annoying. It’s like a swinging pendulum on your wrist. Things you don’t really think about when you choose a watch based on looks or how masculine you think it is, instead of basing the choice on practicality and 24/7 comfort. Also you are far more likely to bump into things with a big watch. You can guard against knocks much more easily with the 7S.
