Fenix 7X Sapphire Solar Constantly connecting and disconnecting

Hi,

I've only had the watch for 4 days, but already I'd like to throw it away...

Every day, sometimes once and sometimes several times a day, the watch gets into a state where it is constantly disconnecting and connecting to the phone. The watch just connects and then disconnects in 2-5 seconds and then reconnects and then disconnects again in a few seconds and this goes on and on forever.

Turning the watch off and on doesn't help, it keeps happening afterwards. Turning off and on the bluetooth on the phone doesn't help. The only thing that helps is restarting the phone or removing the watch from Garmin Connect and pairing it again but neither of the things help permanently, in a few hours the watch gets into a loop of connecting and disconnecting again and then I have to restart the phone again or remove the watch from garmin connect and pair it again.

It always happens in the morning and sometimes during the day.

I previously had Garmin Fenix 6 PRO Sapphire that worked without issues with the same phone! The phone is a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. Thank you

I am also having this problem. Fenix 7S Sapphire Solar and iPhone Xs. I have used Garmin watches for over 10 years and have never experienced this - it's driving me crazy!

I can't even connent to my phone anymore after update to 8.16 beta

Will there any update to fix the connecting issue?

That's how it's supposed to work. It doesn't stay connected constantly. Just turn off the notification

Mine stays connected and i do not get notifications of signaling otherwise. Have you configured garmin connect that it will not get configured by samsung and it´s battery optimization?

I have edited the main post and added a list of affected phones from this thread. I will edit it from time to time to add new reports.

Wrong. That's exactly how BT connections work. Antenna type, circuit board location, and power aside, the nominal effective range of BT in general is 33 feet. One should NOT be constantly disconnecting/connecting when the watch and phone are co-located.

If there are any issues with using the v8.16 Beta, please do the following:

- Garmin Connect App Bluetooth Troubleshooting

- Email our Beta engineering team to let them know any issues you are experiencing - [email protected]

- The Beta software .zip folder you downloaded also has rollback software if you choose to go back to production software.

Chris but how does your post answer our problems?

It just states that the "connection alerts" should be addressed, but not the actual problem of constant connection/disconnection!

I have the alerts disabled in the settings but the watches still connect/disconnect every few seconds for indefinitely...

I am sorry but unless the connection/disconnection problem will be fixed, I will keep rejecting your comment as answered, because this thread is about that. If you have more informations to share about the connection/disconnection problem please let us know.

Please answer yes or no to the following questions:

- Do you receive your incoming smart notifications from your smartphone to your Fenix 7 series watch?

- Does your daily wellness data sync to your Garmin Connect account?

- When you save an activity, does it sync through your GCM APP successfully?
