Strength Training/Weight training activity

Hi, I'm wondering if there is a way to track strength training/weight training without the watch trying to track sets and reps?  I'm simply looking to track my time, heart rate, calories, recovery etc.  I really don't like how the strength activity require you to start/stop each set so it can attempt to count your reps.  That is a feature I personally don't find useful as I track that info separately.  I'm curious to know what other people are doing for strength training/weight training.

  • If you're not interested in set times, only use start/stop-button and you would never get any questions from watch about sets or reps.

  • I do the same, esp with me doing a lot of stretching as part of injury rehab inbetween. Start -> Free -> Stop when done. Cannot be bothered with how many e.g. push-ups I did or how long and many of which stretches I did for how long.

It just ends up giving you one long session, not different steps.

  • Create workout and set timing for sets/rest. Than you need only to start and stop activity manually.

  • What you want is close to what I am already doing. I use strength training to track the types of exercises that I do and the sets. I am not too interested in the reps because they are too inaccurate. Here is what you need to do: 1. Create a new strength workout. 2. Add the workouts you want to do. Under the duration, use time, NOT reps. I usually put one minute per exercise on mine. On each exercise, indicate how much time you need to spend on it. The watch will automatically go to the next exercise when that time elapses. You get a beep in the last five seconds to alert you that you are switching to another exercise routine. You won't need to press any button. I normally do rounds of workouts. For example, in one round, I do three exercises. So you can add a round and put the exercises within a round. Depending on how many repeats you've specified, the watch will repeat the exercises. You can also add rest at the end of the round so that at the end of each round, you get some rest. This works great for me.

  • Rep count can be turned off in Strength activity settings.
