Can I wear my Fenix 7 SS in the hot tub?

I’d like to wear my new watch as close to 24/7 as possible. Can I wear it relaxing in the hot tub? Bonus is it would give some solar in the Canadian winter months! I guess I could place it beside the hot tub for solar but not in the water.

edit: I noticed that operating temps are up to 45°C/113°F. The hot tub is 104°F.

  • Yeah but they are made so you can swim with them, not deep dive.

It's a thought outdoor watch.. do you take it off in heavy rain?

Just don't press the buttons while submerge (I've read that in Garmin manual i think). But no problem pressing them in shower or under running water (the support told me to do that with a sticky button).

  • Taking a sauna with a Fenix can be dangerous. It will just shorten the battery lifespan. Doesn’t help that the watch is mostly made out of metal.

  • I have owned a lot of water resistant watches, including some very high quality mechanical watches designed for diving.

Bottom line for me has always been to not wear a watch in the water unless necessary (especially very hot or very cold water).

First, you can't harm your watch by not wearing it in the water. Second, even with the best watches, water will occasionally find its way into places it's not supposed to be (e.g. buttons). Third, very hot or very cold water can expand or shrink rubber and plastic gaskets, resulting in a seal not functioning the way it normally would at ordinary temperatures.

I don't worry about it if I do wear my water resistant watch in the water, but if I have a choice then I don't wear it.

  • You're comparing rain to a hot shower now? I guess you didn't bother to read the links I posted.

Here is the Garmin definition :

    fenix resists „high-speed water sports“

  • I'll just copy and paste.

guess you didn't bother to read the links I posted.  At the end of the day do what you want with you 1K watch. I'll keep my watch out of hot water.

  • Laughable, this is a fenix. It's the most rugged outdoor adventure watch on the market. I've owned fenix watches since the 3. Never even thought about babying them. I've showered, dove, glided, sailed my fenixes all over the world. Nothing can kill it.

  • Yes, these are the most rugged fitness watches available, I've owned then since the 3, never ever babied them. Every one of mine has taken countless hot hot showers, saunas, hot tubs and swims in pools and oceans, dove to 150', climbed to 20,000+ feet. These watches are RUGGED!

  • Confirm:-)

somebody treat them as high end mechanical watches

it remember me people with rlx sub :-)

these are ‘just’ short term devices

    Just enjoy them
