Can I wear my Fenix 7 SS in the hot tub?

I’d like to wear my new watch as close to 24/7 as possible. Can I wear it relaxing in the hot tub? Bonus is it would give some solar in the Canadian winter months! I guess I could place it beside the hot tub for solar but not in the water.

edit: I noticed that operating temps are up to 45°C/113°F. The hot tub is 104°F.

  • As long as you stay within the max operating temperatures, you should be just fine. I might be careful with going from +40 deg C to I-don’t-know-how-cold temperatures you have outside right now, so perhaps keep it close to the skin when in the hottub and outside of it.

  • $700 + watch, I take mine off before I shower.  Being a looong time Garmin user, soap and stuff will get in the barometer holes and mess up the barometer.

  • Oddly enough, I take it off to shower no questions asked. Soap etc. I figured a hot tub is closer to a pool chemical wise. I think I’ll err on the side of caution.  My buddy wears his instinct but I think they may be a bit more rugged…especially now with a touchscreen.

  • I wouldn't. I don't know what Garmin's policy is on water damage. I always take mine off when I shower because I'm not sure the watch will be protected from those steam/moisture.

  • No problem, just do it. When you're done, clean the watch with some mild soap.

  • It's rated for 100m. And there is absolutely no problem taking a hot shower with it. How fragile do you think the watch is?

  • Before my fenix 7x ss I had a forerunner 935 for years.  Always on in the shower, bathtub, indoor and ourdoor swimming. Never had a problem with that.

  • I had a f5s and a fs6 and now a fsss.

    These are tuff staff!!

With all of them I have done many swims in swimming pools (chloro) and sea.

many many sauna never a problem

In sauna I just cover time to time the watch with my free /right hand to cool down the temperature and when I jump in freezing water I put a few time the arm with the watch first do let it ‘acclimatized’

so did last week my f7sss

please keep in mind that these are not forever watches and after x years they will be replaced by the better version

so 5/6 years of this life is not an issue

with my mechanical watches after this period I proceed with a service and replacement of all gaskets

    I don’t think it’s possible on these pc/watches

to be on the safe side you could test every year the water resistance

I'm sure there's gaskets available for the older fenix models along with batteries and screens so if you have technical aptitude you can definitely make these watches last indefinitely.
