The Tactix 7 is now Available

now that the fenix 7x is released, it's time to turn our attention to what i (we?) REALLY want, the tactix delta successor. according to my research, fenix 6 was launched in august, tactix delta the following january. if this timeframe holds, echo should launch in june. CANNOT wait. all i really want is the case material/look/feel of the delta and delta software enhancements with the fenix 7 updates and it should easily retain the title of the best watch garmin makes...

  • Yeah, this DLC is honestly very weak. I've abused countless anodized aluminum rifle sights that don't rub away or scratch the way this watch does. In fact, I LIGHTLY brushed my watch against the aluminum body of my rifle sight a couple weeks back and it left quite the scratch, rubbed the DLC right off.

  • I have the same issue. I just lightly hit the edge when putting laundry in my washing machine. The DLC coating pealed off...

I mean for 1200 bucks? Titanium DLC? ..

    Do you have pics?

Pics would be appreciated so we can appreciate the extent of the problem.

    TIA

  • For everyone saying the DLC is poor, did you own the Delta? I found the DLC application on the Delta to be great. Two years of heavy  ownership and not a single scratch on the bezel. If they somehow messed up the application process on the 7 that would be pretty devastating

  • Top one is machine, small dots + rest I have no clue how that occured. This is a week in.

Looks like some of the same white "stuff" has accumulated around the Torx screw immediately adjacent to the area you highlighted.  I know it sounds odd to you, but are you sure that white stuff won't simply wipe off leaving the DLC untouched underneath it?

I know with mine I thought I had gouged up the bezel on a shopping cart, but when I got home and took a closer look, it just wiped off with a little Windex on a rag.

    HTH

  • It's pure silver.. there's nothing to wipe off. I've tried everything and the more I wipe the shinier it feels.
The white stuff was just some dirt from some evening workout in the gym.
    But here is another angle..

  • No I'm not going to waste my time taking pics of a small scratch. You can either believe me or not. Says a lot when several people are supporting our claim though.

Also, I owned a Fenix 5 that did NOT scratch like this. Why? Because it was steel, which was much harder, but the DLC even wore off that to some extent after years. And yes, sometimes I could wipe off 'scratches', others were just plain scratches. I do know the difference. Anyone who doesn't think the DLC can scratch must work a desk job.

  • Mine looks very similar to yours - it does not wipe off. And for the sake of people who think we don't know the difference, I've wiped similar 'scratches' off my fenix 5 (when they weren't actually scratches, sometimes they were). This does NOT wipe off.
