Hey folks, I am considering getting a Fenix 6X Pro, just as soon as the F7 drops. In hopes that the price will drop? My question is, Do you think they have all the bugs addressed and all the bells and whistles singing, on the 6X Pro?
Thanks

If the sensors are producing faulty data then pretty much every function the watch is intended to support is compromised.
I've had my 6X Pro Solar for almost two years. I did not ask for, expect or want…
No, all the bugs haven't been addressed but most have. Yes, new bugs will appear as Garmin change things to improve the watch and respond to requests for enhancements. I would contend that the core functions…
Suunto 9 is +3 years now and it still has bugs, and yes every time they add fetaures, bugs crop up again.

.... The only way you will ever not get bugs is to never add/change features and only ever hunt down bugs. As you rightly know, every time you add/change a feature there is always the chance for a bug to creep in. Personally I would rather have the occasional bugs, than never have any improvements/updated features, even if 80% of those changes/improvements never impact me.
Its difficult to tell how a change impacts the software. I personally would have thought that a change to firstbeats algorithms wouldn't impact anything - it would be more of plug an play sort of thing, however as we can see from the impact to training module - it perhaps isn't quite like that. So unless you have specifically worked with the software, I would think it woudl be difficult to make any assertations other than very broad assumptions....
How hard can it be - I guess this is a lot harder than it looks, based on the issues all of the tech companies have, which really doesn't surprise me considering how integrated and multifunctional these devices are, but isn't that always the case when you have a device that is multi-functional. We see this all major multifunctional tech devices from PC/laptops, phones to watches - so am surprised that you still think it is unusual and unacceptable to have bugs... and that it should be easy to fix.....
No, all the bugs haven't been addressed but most have. Yes, new bugs will appear as Garmin change things to improve the watch and respond to requests for enhancements. I would contend that the core functions of the watch do work for the majority. However, for whatever reason, some people appear to have more than their fair share of problems.
If you read the forum posts here then you would never buy a Garmin Watch. Period. There is a very vocal minority here who either have problems or for whom Garmin is the great evil. More people come here to complain about the watch than praise the watch; indeed more often than not, anyone who dares to suggest a particular problem is not universal is invariably shouted down. That is the nature of forums. At least Garmin provides the ability for users to complain when most other manufacturers do not.
You would be better placed to read independent reviews outside of these forums, consider the aggregate view of the reviewers, then make a considered decision.
