Wireless headphones

Hey all after recommendations for any wireless headphones that are currently working without bluetooth issues or dropouts with the fenix 6x. (Like jaybird)

I have jaybird tarah pro but have been rendered useless by constant dropout and disconnections.

Was looking at bose and jabra. But open to suggestions(Not apple products)

Im sure others are in the same boat but couldnt find any rexent recomendations.

Use will be outdoor running. True wireless or wire between headphones is ok.

Thanks all!

  • Aftershokz Aeropex - easy to connect - no dropouts or disconnections. Audio is pretty decent, except for trance/dance when can lack a bit of depth, but turning up volume solves that (but does create a bit of definition loss) - note bone induction headset - so can be fully aware of surroundings (and or your can put in the included ear plugs and get no external noise). Battery life when using volume at less than 75% is easily +8hrs (I am generally getting around 12-14). At 100% volume can get an occasional tickle, but not unpleasant - not sure of battery life at this level but probably between 5-8hrs.

They are super light and comfortable - can easily take glasses and hats/beanies without issues. Generally don't have issues with collars, hoodies etc either. Due to lightness they feel breakable, but they are actually quite durable.

3 buttons are easy to use (volume up & down are easy to find and differentiate, and covers very low to high; single button for mic, pause, next, previous is reasonably easy to use and find - have single (pause/unpause/mic and double tap sorted - am struggling with timing on 3 tap for previous).

Battery level (100/80/60/40/20) shows in bluetooth settings on phone, and or when playing music can press volume key to get level (high, medium, low). Mic works ok and people on other side can hear you reasonably well, as long as not too much environment noise.

Only issue I have had is that watch doesn't always connect when controlling media, but due to phone, as for some reason when I launch my music player, android sometimes decides to launch a now notification in regards to podcasts - the watch sees this as media and gets confused, but dismissing the notification resolves the issue. Sometimes however it does this but notification doesn't show, however pausing music on phone and restarting generally then shows this notification - dismiss it, and back to fine.

Downloaded offline playlists work fine through the headset - no issues in that regard either.

  • But the earphones are connected to Fenix or to phone?? We are talking about headphones connecting to fenix.
