Fenix 6S Pro Solar dramatic battery drain since 12.20

Hello

I have bought a 6S Pro Solar last July.

Until the firmware 12.20, it was all perfect for me. But, since 12.20, I have a big battery drain : even if I do not do any running or hiking session, I have to charge my watch every 2.5 days Disappointed

I did soft and hard reset, both do not work.

How can I downgrade to a firmware < 12.20 ? Garmin does not even provide older firmware than 12.20 Disappointed

I hope Garmin engineers are aware of this kind of battery issue, because for me, it's not a coincidence if my problems begun with the arrival of firmware 12.20.

12.77 Public beta does not solve the problem either.

Thanks for your help

  • If you are hoping for Garmin to respond to you here I fear you will be out of luck. You need to contact Garmin Support directly. This is primarily an end user forum, not an official support forum.

As for a software or hardware problem, I've had my 6X Pro Solar for one year and never had this battery drain problem with any firmware release from 5.0 to 13.10 and many betas as well.

From what I read, the problem seems more common with users who use Spotify, which I do not, or those who have problems with phone connectivity, which I also do not. I don't know if this applies in your case, but maybe it is something to add to the discussion when raising the problem with Garmin.

  • Garmin responded to my customer service email and did not offer any troubleshooting or fixes.  They immediately said they would send me a new watch (I have had mine 1 year).  They must know what is happening and know a fw update will not fix it.  The new watch is refurbished, but I guess that is better than the brick I am wearing right now.  I hope I don't update it and ruin it, if that is indeed what killed our watches.

  • My Fenix 6 Pro did this after the last update.  I powered it off and back on and it has been fine after the last 2 activities.

  • Same for me. Since the update I go from 100% to zero in 2 days without activity ...

Fenix 6 solar already exchanged in June for a solar charging problem ... If I have to return it (and do without a watch for 1 month) every 6 months it becomes worrying
