And Power Sapphire for tactix !
It looks like there wont be next generation watches this year. No fenix 6 plus or fenix 7 watches...
Bad news for anyone who was waiting for a brand new Garmin model to come out soon.
Honestly, though, I can't think of anything else they could add at this point that wouldn't have major battery life consequences…

What a beautiful mess in the series 6 portfolio it would be!
Pro with Solar, Sapphire but without Solar, Pro without both Solar and Sapphire... But I must say that new colors for 6 Pro Solar are great!
I wonder if there would be something more regarding Fenix series in terms of this year.
Does this announcement make buying the regular Fenix 6 Pro (which is coming to me on Monday via Amazon) a bad purchase? I'm not thinking in terms of Solar tech which would be a gimmick for me at best but in terms of other possible tweaks (although I only see slightly different buttons and more colorways). Well, in terms of scratching, the new Slate Gray (for a non-Sapphire 6 Pro) would be better than the Black I ordered. However, I did buy the regular F6 Pro for 599 (the lowest you can pretty much get here in EU) and these new models will probably cost more (and just as with the Sapphire version, I'm not willing to pay 100-200 more for something I cannot justify). Finally, there's the blue tint issue and a hope that these new models would have better quality control in their screens but that might be doubtful.
I'm pretty interested in the addition of a nylon band and "Advanced Ballistics Calculator".
Really liking the new mineral blue colour
I wouldn't personally spend that much extra on the Solar for the F6. Depends on your usage though I guess, If you are outside in the sun a lot, it may be worth it. Or for endurance type events
I would wait for the first reviews. Maybe indeed this Solar variant will solve some construction issues like mushy buttons (it looks like that Start button is modified), blue backlight or questionable OHR accuracy.
If that would be true - extra 150$ bucks may be justified. But I guess that there would be a lot less people that would decide to buy new Fenix generation when it appears, knowing that after a year all issues will be solved in slightly upgraded product. :P

So does this mean we will see the FW public release 10.0 this week?? I’m seeing all the updated widget screens on the website.
To be honest the solar thing is more of a marketing stunt than a game changer. If you read the specs, the solar will provide you with 1 additional hour of GPS (16 hours compared to 15) and 24 days on watch mode instead of 21...and that is if you are outside...in the sun for those days. In reality the gain most likely will be smaller than that. I do like the new 'tactical nylon band' for the Delta...price still way to high though.
