26mm Nick Mankey - Hook Strap Pre-Order

I’ve seen the Nick Mankey hook strap on these forums and was a little disappointed that he doesn’t do a 26mm variant. It looks like he’s doing a “gofundme” style pre-order for them:

I just order on and if he delivers, I’ll posed picture of my 6X sporting it.

  • With this, watch caw can sit higher up when it matters,  away from the wrist

  • Can anyone tell us how this strap goes with water? Can I use it for swimming?

Or more specifically, how fast does it dry out after it gets wet? I usually give my watch a good rinse in the shower every day, and I'd hate for the strap to be soaking wet all morning afterwards

Of course, you can swim with it.
Nick told me he keeps it in the sea and in the shower. Living in hot and beautiful California, it gets dry quick.
Not so much in French rainy winter ! :-D
I'm not fond of getting my strap wet. I really enjoy them when they are dry !
They don't dry "that" quick because there are two layers and the exterior one is not in contact with the skin.
Sun is welcome to dry it quicker.
But it is so easy to switch for a dry and clean one after a shower especially with the spring bars on the Fenix 6.
You mileage may vary because the use of your watch may vary. :-)
    My two cents.

  • Hello. I have had one on my 6 pro for a week now non-stop. In the morning I shower and then get dressed. I haven't noticed that it makes my shirt wet. I will try and time it tomorrow. But I can say after the shower it is damp and not dripping wet.

I haven't swum it yet, but I ran a half marathon with it on the outside of my jacket. it was so easy to go from wrist to outside of the jacket and back again. I have issues with rubber straps, skin rash. I had been using a metal bracelet and changing to the rubber strap when I run, but this is so much easier. It also stayed tight as I ran.

I had no marks on my skin when I get hot and cold. I think the elastic has just the right give in it.

  • So after 5 minutes I put my shirt on. It doesn’t make my shirt wet. If I push and rub my shirt against the strap, the shirt is wet. After 10 minutes (5 minutes wearing the shirt). The shirt isn’t wet but if I rub shirt with my fingers against strap the shirt has some wet mark.
I am wearing a white business shirt.

    at 15 minutes nothing...
