I can't play music from the Fenix 6x plus. I copy the music directly from Linux to the device in the Music folder. But the clock does not recognize the files.
Does anyone know why?
Best thanks and greetings
Kurt
P.S. Sorry for my bad english

No. I don't really use the music feature, but I have tried it a couple of times.
I am a Linux user as well, copied the mp3 files to the Music folder and then set up the music provider to "My music…
Yes that worked. I merely copied the mp3 file folders for each artist (individual albums within them) into the music folder. no problem. Thanks!
Hi, the MP3 i downloaded was some VLC MP3 type of file (windows showed as "mp3 (vlc)". And within the player, within the codec window, i could see the 2 extra streams. I comverted iy again to a single…
they have to be mp3 files.
no wav‘s, flac, m4a or anything besides mp3s will work.
checkout spotifiy for the 3 months free trial - it‘s pretty awesome and extremely easy to use ;)
Thanks for your quick answer. I have tried it with mp3 and aac, files in both formats are not recognized.
Sure, spotify would be a possibility, but would rather forego it.
Try to copy/ transfer music files through Garmin Connect from your PC and synchronise. It must be there then.
and i forgot to mention that you should use the garmin express app on your pc to send the files to your watch.
otherwise i think it won‘t work
Garmin express does not run on Linux. Therefore I copy the files directly to the clock in the music folder. But I will have to make a compromise.
Any new replies to this. Is it actually a 100% necessity to use Garmin Express on a Windows PC to transfer the music files?

I also tried podcasts copied to the Podcasts folder, they also worked well.

It works perfectly. Thank you very much.
I didn't change the music provider to "My Music".
So stupid...
Many thanks for the help.
Hi. An additional comment for mp3 files. Sometimes they have several streams in parallel (you can check for example with VLC player). It has to be a single track, mp3 file. I had an mp3 with 2 subtitle tracks and it wasn't being recognized
