Almost no software available for 6 series in Connect store! When will SDK be available for developers to update their software?

I don't remember a new Fenix series coming out before with so little software available including all the popular ones. When will the SDK be available for developers to update their software? I have a mind to return the watch and wait for that to happen because I rely on many aftermarket softwares and watch faces.

For some devices, what's called "auto migration" is used in the app store. Where if a new device is close enough to an older device, apps are available for the new device right away. An example…

I'm surprised there is a lag from Garmin. They should post the SDK on launch day.

How can you return the watch if you have broken the seal on the packaging??

Most places, in the US, have a 15 day return policy on electronics.Go to the store and give it back to them

I came here to complain about the same thing! Not even the GarminLabs running power lol. You would think Garmin would have their own items ready to go

I think if you open something and play around with it you should not return it without good reason. A change of heart is not a good reason in my book that’s just buyers remorse...

For some devices, what's called "auto migration" is used in the app store. Where if a new device is close enough to an older device, apps are available for the new device right away. An example would be when the f5 plus devices came out, f5 apps were compatible, so "auto migrated".

The f6 is different than other devices - maybe fonts and definitely the screen size/resolution etc, so couldn't be auto migrated. The developers needs to do it. And right now, we don't have the updated version of the tool to build apps for the f6 (it comes out after a new device is announced, so I'd give it a couple days. And some folks (like me) have 50 different apps, so it might not be as soon as the tool is available for some apps.

I've got to hold onto my old watch because there are essential apps I use on it like ErgIQ for the Concept 2 rowing machine. I didn't have this issue when the Fenix 5 came out and it is very frustrating because it makes the watch less useful.

I can see the secrecy/surprise argument for holding it until launch day, but after that, it just makes Garmin look bad and makes all their early customers mad.

If they had the tool available before announcement, there would be thousands of CIQ developers that would know about it before the announcement, so the world would know about it, and people would just ask for apps to be ported sooner.

In the case of the f5, the "app/auto migration" I mentioned in another post could be done, as CIQ wise, it's just like the 935.

But that's not the case with the 945 and f6.
