Epix pro gen 2 lag Issue

Since this weekend, my Epix Pro gen 2 is super laggy.

Pressing a button or swiping on the screen takes 5-10 seconds for a response and occasionally it will just randomly restart itself.

I restarted it, reset defaults parameters. Nothing seems to resolve the problem. I installed the beta firmware 25.03, same lag.

The watch appears to have a background task that runs continuously. When I request a complete reset of the watch (factory reset), I have this message: "Device is busy. Try again later"

I saw on reddit that downgrading the firmware from 23.48 to 23.18 solves the problem for some people.

Does someone have the same issue on this watch?

No such issue here, but did you try shutting down the watch by pressing the Light button for more than 15 seconds? It's like pulling the plug on a PC and should hopefully terminate rogue processes.

Hi, yes I did it. Unfortunately, it does not work.

I hope someone from Garmin will find a solution.

Hi. I did many test with a Garmin tech from the Garmin customer service. Nothing worked. I had to return my watch back to Garmin.

I’d swear my Epix Pro Gen 2 turned into a slo-mo device overnight. It’s like I’m trying to use a smartwatch built for turtles. Swiping feels like waiting for toast to pop, buttons respond like they’re on vacation, and the random restart just adds that “surprise lottery” vibe. If only it lagged as predictably as my coffee maker.

I had this issue when I first updated to 23.18.

I rolled back to 22.06 (with quite a bit of issues and reconifguration work) and managed to not have the update installed again for a while.
Unfortunately, last night it decided to install 23.18 then followed by 23.48 and I have the same lag again.

I really hope I don't hace to revert back again
