screen problem_black stripe on the whole screen

A black stripe appeared on the screen.

How can this be fixed?

    I am sorry to hear you are having this issue. For this, there are a few steps I would recommend trying. 

    • First I would recommend powercycling the watch.
    • Does this appear on all screens? Or is this only showing on the map screen? If this is only impacting the map, I would recommend removing and reinstalling the map. 
    • If this continues to effect all displays, I would also recommend trying a factory reset with these steps: 
    1. Ensure the watch is powered off.
      • You may need to hold LIGHTfor up to 30 seconds to turn the watch off.
    2. Press and hold BACK and START/STOP.
    3. Press LIGHT to power the watch on while holding these two buttons.
    4. After the first beep release START/STOP.
    5. After the second beep release the remaining button.

    If the issue continues, I would recommend contacting Garmin Product Support. 

  • the stripe is visible everywhere, on all screens. resetting to factory settings did not help solve the problem.

  • Of course it did not, it is hardware issue.
