Really Shameful

I bought the watch about a month ago. Searching the internet I found that there is a problem with the nap detection. There is also a problem with the lactate threshold detection. As a result the body battery show wrong results.

It's truly a shame for a company to write for almost a year that it will fix the problems and nothing happens. I sincerely hope that you don't get scammed in this way.

Best regards

  • the results of TLP are absolutly wrong

Do you have data to support this? I am very interested to see. I do not care too much about "absolute" figures, but am much more interested in the trend. But even the figures I get seem to match my efforts quite well. I now use the Tactix 8, which seems a little more accurate than my Marq Gen 2 (but that's only an impression based on the latest data I got).

  • Do you want training data for the past 12 months?

  • didn't you bought the watch only a month ago?

  • Sarcasm refers to the use of words that mean the opposite of what you really want to say, especially in order to insult someone, or to show irritation, or just to be funny

  • Now if you want, explain to me how it is possible for the LP to be in zone 5 with 182 beats.

    your data!

  • First, it's not. Your Z5 starts at 183 and your LT is at 182?

Even if it was, because in my case it's exactly as you said with LT being 1 beat into Z5, about what are you talking? Is 1 beat sufficient to say that values are absurdly wrong? WTF? lol

LT is defined as the threshold between Z4 and Z5...if it is the highest point of Z4 or the lowest point of Z5 i don't see this absurd difference which could be also the result of some roundings.

Or, maybe, i'm misunderstanding your problem.

Also, your Z4 looks pretty wide for zones set by %LTHR. If you set them by %HRR then some differences could come also from that reason because different zones works in a different way.

You could also change the language if you want to share more screenshots.

    edit.
    And he downvotes me, lol
Not that I really care but it's funny

  • False nap detected today on 20.22. I was very much awake and watching YouTube.

  • Just check this. Body battery starts increasing at 2:24 and sleep detection starts 04:00 .

  • My epix pro gen 2 is excellent at nap detection. I sound like a broken record but I guess some people have trouble reading. If you nap following / during a period of high stress like eating or exercise, no optical heart rate detector is going to record a nap. Otherwise, nap detection is great.

  • Its not the best at nap detection (though you can always manually start it) - but then its always going be subjective as need to be very inactive, need your HR to drop slightly and your ANS stress needs to be low - have to have all 3 for it to record a nap - just the two and its a restful session instead. Considering naps are generally light sleep the recharge is the same for light sleep as a restful session - so no impact to BB.

if your nap is over 40mins then sure you could be getting some deep sleep and that would change the recovery factor, but if you hit deep sleep it should be picking up a nap as your HR will have dropped - and if its deep sleep and very unrestful and or stress is high - then BB recharge is low - so again woul be same as restful. Plus really shouldn't be napping over 40 mins.

So I don't really think there is anything adverse to not picking up a nap, as long as restful is picked up. The negative impacts of not picking up a nap are twofold: 1) naps impact sleep coach - restful session doesn't - but then sleep coach is pretty meh at this stage (so many quick easy things they could do to make this function so much better); 2) no record of restful sessions, but is possible to see naps (app only) if you like to track them. But really neither is a major issue - and is possibly why there has been little effort on garmin's part to resolve considering the features and focus they have been putting on more meaningful features (which we are unfortunately not in the receiving line for - and potentially why it matters more to us).
