This bugs me for some time and after yesterday’s run I now have accumulated enough curiosity to ask.
I sometimes do outdoor sprint sessions where I program a workout in advance that looks like this:
I.e.: run to the place where I want to sprint. Get my breath back and then - crucially - have a 10 second countdown before every sprint, because I don’t want to start with my hand on the lap button. Recover after every sprint while jogging back to start, and then new countdown.
My experience from multiple similar sessions is:
- the vibration feedback at the end of the 10s countdown seems to be in line with what the watch display shows me
- the 5 beeps from the watch during the last 5 seconds seem to be kinda OK but I feel like they are sometimes slightly off - especially there are instances where the time between the 1s beep and the „go“ beep-and-vibration is not in line with the beeps that come before.
- the „beep equivalent“ sound, and also the voice feedback „run“ that comes through my headphones (Shokz openrun pro) is totally off. At least one second to late, so that it must be completely ignored. Same is true for the end of the run interval. There seems to be a major lag for sounds via Bluetooth connection. Is that normal? If so, can I toggle off these headphone beeps as they impair hearing the watch beeps - without turning off all workout feedback on the headphones like interval pace?
do you also experience that?
headphones are connected directly to the watch. I don’t bring my phone to running sessions. Music is playing from the watch during the whole process - maybe that overwhelms the watch’s Bluetooth chip?
