Map manager express and golf courses updates sync fails

Hi all,

I’ve got something annoying going on. If I use map manager on Garmin express it says all maps are up to date.

If I open map manager on my watch it says a golf course is update able and I can add queue and it sync fails when I activate download (when connected to power supply).

Ive already “reinstalled” all 3 golf courses in map manager on express but it doesn’t change it. Which takes a long time btw because you have to reconnect the watch after every reinstall.

restarting the watch also doesn’t change anything.

This “buggy 2005 software” is really annoying me.

How do I fix this without doing a hard reset with losing all data and settings?

please help! Also Garmin team please report this bug!

Then they are up to date.

Ignore the message in the watch's map manager. It is incorrect. The error has been known for a long time.

Son in law Had this problem last week, unable to load golf course when on the course, plug into computer and select reinstall maps. This worked for us.

Yes, not unusual. Another of my Garmin devices received an FW update in November 2023, which destroyed the route recording. Development has confirmed the problem, and according to Product Support, the goal of development is to fix the bug by the middle of this year.

At least I have written confirmation from support that I can return the device for a refund of the purchase price if the problem is not solved by then.

Another example: the reference point app of the instinct 2x has not been working for a year. According to Garmin, it is "the highest priority". However, it is unknown when a fix will be released..

Wauw.. seems crazy to me. I guess they need more software developers

My opinion ? They have too many watches in their program. Additionally, they don't seem to focus on fixing bugs before introducing new features. The beta program will be ruined if they don't respond and WORK on/to customer feedback and old bugs continue through some official updates. And it's not getting any better.

In the video for the official launch of the fenix 8, the global Garmin Product Manager said the following: "Gaining trust is hard earned and takes a long time. Destroying it is easy and quick".
As long as this is just a slogan and not a general Garmin attitude, it can't get any better.
