GPS tracks are pretty solid in residential areas, open fields and even through woodland. On residential streets I am placed on the correct side of the road and very close to my exact route, with minimal…

While I do use a chest strap, the watch records both OHR and external HR. Here is a comparison of the two for a 5k, 70 minute walk....

I'm on 17.28 and have no issues (only use it for running and weights).
19.42, the last firmware that works flawlessly for me.
I am not aware of significant issues with the latest software (which fixed the bluetooth connection bug for me) at least for my Epix pro 42mm.
I use it mainly for running (including listening to spotify), HIIT (including pre-programmed garmin connect workouts), Weightlifting, and general health metrics (wear it 24/7).
Have switched to an Edge bike computer for cycling since February (after some crashes of my epix during rides and because I was annoyed that DI2 buttons don't work with the epix, also wanted a new gadget tbh.).
However, I always wear an HRM Pro chest strap (thus, I have stopped tracking the multiple threads about potential heart rate mismeasurements).
hello thanks for post, 19.42 is BETA, im asking for stable releases
20.22 is working fine for me since last week, when i connect the watch to Garmin Express and downloaded some map updates, before was doing rare things, the HR measurements are fine, as was in 19.41, i noticed that 20.22 has improved a lot the sleep score feature and training readiness, and now yes, the external sensors are listed
I was cautious about moving from 19.41 to 20.22, but I made the jump and haven't noticed any problems with walking, trail running and indoor biking. General daytime and overnight stats all seem fine too.
However, I pretty much always use a chest strap, even for walking, so I would be unaware of any issues with the OHR during exercise. Also, I use Stryd when running, so I would not be aware of distance/pace issues. But battery life is great and everything works as expected for my use cases.
Walking OHR, very good
i can confirm that the OHR is working fine, as was with 19.41, maybe little bit more responsive, so improved overall
