(20.22) Epix Gen 2 - No notifications at all

Hi,

I have Redmi 12 PRO 4G+ using Android 13TQ1 system

My watch is a Garmin Epix Gen 2.

After updating my watch's software to 20.16 which caused my phone to constantly connect and reconnect to my watch and now to 20.22 hoping it will fix the issue, my watch won't receive any smart notifications at all.

Everything was gucci and gloss on 19.24.

Furthermore, my Connect app now constantly sends me a notification "Syncing to device".
I actually have to actively have the app opened to be able to receive push notifications from my phone to my watch.

I used to be able to open the app once on my phone, sync with my watch and close to get everything done but now is not the case anymore.

I have already tried the factory reset (no success), uninstalling and reinstalling Connect (no success), used Express to update from 20.16 to 20.22 (no success)

Anybody going through the same or have any clue on how to fix that ?
Or easier solution, how can I revert the software back to 19.24?

Thank you in advance!

  • Not as bad as you but certainly experiencing connectivity issues with iPhone 14 pro. Randomly missing notifications and also did not update Training Status in Connect.

  • When my notifications from Android disappear (very rarely) the solution is either to toggle notifications off and on again or reboot the phone. Sometimes the phone reboot is the necessary step.

I've owned Garmins since 2017 and this has always worked for me. Likely cause, I'm guessing, is phone power management shutting down something in the Connect app that needs a kickstart to get back online.

That said, I'm still running firmware 19.41 on my watch. I'm not touching the 20.xx range with the bugs I've seen reported.

  • Thanks a bunch ! This actually worked.

I disabled the notificatinons for all apps through Connect then enabled them back.

The reconnect spam occured on 20.16 but stopped under the 20.22 patch but caused the notifications to be gone.

With your trick, I got them back.
