Hello
i had the same problem at home: the only solution i found is to configure wifi wiith the guest wifi—> also an issue with Nintendo switch… solved with the guest network ... fore sure an issue with some devices.
if you can try…,
Thank you for your suggestion.
So I've tried at home wifi
I have made a hot-spot on my phone using 5G
And around 10-15 diff wifi networks around different countries hotels where I travel for work.
Unfortunately it syncs all the way to 99% and then when it's 100% it says Map Sync fail
My guess it's something other than the network
Hi, i had the same problem, not a wifi problem, its the file size. Just connect the watch to the computer and delete all map files, then download maps from the watch. Problem solved.
So just to understand. Delete all the img files from the watch. Then choose a area and download that from the watch using WiFi correct?
I see the file sizes for some maps are 3-4GB, how much time did it take for you?

Hi, before delete, just copy the files to PC, then delete. It took around 3hours.
Yes, so I copied all. And then only downloaded the one I want. and it does not show "queued" as it shows when downloaded from pc.
Question : Are you subscribed to maps+ and does this watch only download work with maps+ also?
I stopped my subscription because eg if I'm travelling and going to run around the hotel, I try to download the area map on maps+ via wifi and that also use to fail.
So either maps + was failing or maybe the "queued" maps were first and failing and hence the second request of area maps never started to download.
But thank you for this.
I have 7-8 email replies from garmin, each reply is ridiculous and frustrating. I am glad this method worked and that way less files taking memory.
I don't need the golf etc anyways
Hi, i don't have Map+, only ActiveTopo, its just fine for me and i don't need golf maps.
