Display turned on slightly when display off/not active

Hi,

last night I noticed that display in my watch is illuminated. First, I thought that torch is on although it was not as bright of course, but that was my first impression and I couldn't think about anything else. I have turned the display on and off, and it was good again. I thought I have "fixed" it, so I went back to sleep. I woke up now and it is the same - the display was illuminated again. Now I am not sure about it, but I think I could see some numbers or letters on the display. I have turned display on and off again. All good again...and after 3-4 seconds the display started going brighter at the top, slowly flooding nearly whole display. I have reset the watch, same. I have turned sleep mode off, same. I took the watch off my wrist to take a photo, and noticed that HR sensor stayed on...

It has to be very dark in the room to notice that. But in the middle of the night I thought the display was on.  Also, I wonder, if the longer display stays turned off (like in my case for few hours while asleep), the more illuminated it becomes, to the level that I could see some numbers on the display when I woke up.

I have tried to take a photo but it was very difficult to do so, bou can see what I mean.

Has anybody experienced this?

P.S. 1 Seems to be working ok now, while I am writing this, watch is still in sleep mode so watch is in the same mode Thinking

P.S. 2 My body battery trend is blank but it has gone up during sleep and started shwoing trend when I woke up (or probably after I have reset the watch). My stress trend is missing as well. Heart Rate trend is complete, same as sleep score or HRV. Garmin Connect is showing body battery and stress for all night

  • I have the same problem, I don't know if it's a defect. Turn off touch. This won't happen

  • Hi, am experiencing the same issue you described. Garmin support has asked to provide pictures of the issue, however this may be hard to take considering how faint the glowing is.

Will update If they suggest a fix other than the one mentioned below.

  • I also experience this problem. Sleep mode turned on and there is a very faint glowing of the display during the night. When I touch the display to see the current time the display first gets dark before the time is displayed. When the time display is turned off it takes some time until the display starts to glow again. This was definitely not the case when the watch was new.

Anybody found solution? what was solution of the Garmin support?
