Unfortunately knocked my Epic2 which resulted in the watch breaking. Screen isn’t cracked, but it won’t turn on unless plugged in.
It makes me question the resilient claim - impact was minimal. Any one else had issues, any fixes?

Have you contacted Garmin Support?
Yeah. They are happy to replace it but it is considered accidental damage so will have to pay £270.
Just quite surprising considering the claim of “resilient”and “U.S Military shock resistance”. I’m just interested if others have had a similar experience or did I just get a dodgy one.
I love the watch so am pretty committed. Just hope I don’t have to keep paying out £270 every 6 months.

You won't if you don't bang it hard enough to break it.
Exactly! The question is what is hard enough. The language used in the marketing would give you some confidence that it could take a couple of knocks, but I’m not so sure now and will need to be mindful of what activities I do.
Dr Phil - do you take yours off for certain sports?

No particular care. I just use it. And yes, I have knocked it about a few times.
I've had many Garmin watches over the years (since 2005) and have yet to have one break after knocking it. I recall my wife knocking her 310XT into a post while running sufficiently hard enough to have the strap break and the watch fall to the ground. It still worked. So, I'd guess in most circumstances there wouldn't be a problem but there's always that one spot where the most damage occurs with the least impact.
Long story short, I do not 'baby' my watches. I just use them.
Same - I’ve been using Forerunners for years and was excited to upgrade to an Epic. Just expected it to be a bit more resilient but might have just been unlucky with the angle.
Appreciate your comments. Much more helpful than your first attempt.
Always hard for manufacturers when somebody has a broken watch after an impact but might be worth trying to push the point with Garmin. if there is no sign of external damage from the impact then they might accept your claim that the impact was minimal.
Would be interesting to hear something from Garmin on here. Looking at the forums other people have had the same issue. Seems to me that some might be faulty.

Not too probable here on the user forum. Rather contact Garmin directly.

Yes, among the millions of users, there will be always some people having the same problem. However, I am afraid it won't help you much.
